FACTS ABOUT EVERTON AND THE ENGLISH LEAGUE:

>Everton have spent the most seasons in the English league top division.
>Everton were one of the 12 founding members of the English league.
>Everton have only spent FOUR seasons out of the English top division.
>Everton ARE the best club in England!
>Everton have been league champions NINE times.

Why Everton are just unlucky?
>Everton were champions when the English league got suspended in BOTH World Wars.
>Everton won the league in 1984/85 season, just in time for the European ban of English clubs, meaning that Everton couldn’t participate in European competition and the question remains….Would the European Cup gone to Everton in 1986 if they participated? Or 1988 for that matter?

(Got that info from a fellow Evertonian, maybe he can email me our FA Cup results since 1880s, lol)

While we've on a role, here is a our FA CUP FINAL results. :)

1893: Everton 0-1 Wolves
1897: Everton 2-3 Aston Villa
1906: Everton 1-0 Newcastle United
1907: Everton 1-2 Sheffield Wednesday
1933: Everton 3-0 Manchester City
1966: Everton 3-2 Sheffield Wednesday
1968: Everton 0-1 West Brom
1984: Everton 2-0 Watford
1985: Everton 0-1 Manchester United
1986: Everton 1-3 Liverpool
1989: Everton 2-3 Liverpool
1995: Everton 1-0 Manchester United

Champions: 1906, 1933, 1966, 1984, 1995.

Its bad knowing that Everton have been in 12 finals and only won 5 of them. I'll never forgive Liverpool for 1986/1989.

I cried for two weeks over that one.:D
But I have to admit it was the greatest Final I have ever seen.

Is this fewer seasons out of the top division than any other team that typically plays in the highest division (eg Arsenal, Man U, or Liverpool, etc)?

It certainly is my friend and don't you ever forget it!! Everton are by far the most consistent team in England.

Although Arsenal have been in the top flight since WW1 we have have called the top division our home for more years than they.
