There's apparently a guy on Bigsoccer who's written a book about college soccer recruiting:

Let's just talk about video for a second. Tell me what you got on a tape exactly is it a highlight film? If so coaches take them and tape over them.

Or is it 2 halfs of 2 seperate games against 2 good opponents. Not with you highlighted but just you playing in them with everbody else and you are a standout in each game but not highlighted. That is what they want to see on a video.

With your soccer ressume which better be good.

Plus your academic grades.

Plus why you want to really go to this school.

i would send out letters with your transcripts aswell as your academic and athletic achievments...
Also, every state in the US has an online forum that is specifically for players, coaches, refs etc in that state, and most have an option for juniors and seniors to post a resume so that college coaches can check out players on there...

I'll second that full half video. Coaches don't want to just see what you do when you make a good play, they'd like to see how you react when you make a bad one. Whether or not you will bust your ass to get it back or not, running through tackles, things of that nature. And if you knew the college you wanted to go to, I'd say find a way to get into contact with the coach and make sure he takes you seriously. I found that out the hard way with kicking in football.

I sent out a highlight tape to a dozen DI coaches, and every single coach I sent it to came to see me play live (which is the result you want, rarely would a coach offer you money based solely on a video). Plus, 2 of the coaches made me offers based solely on the highlight tape. I did have a resume attached and I included coaches contact info, but still. The highlight tape was very effective for me. Talk to the coach first and ask him which he would prefer, but again, I am breathing proof the highlight tape was successful.

Well, there are 55 state soccer associations in the US, and most of them have forums, if you could tell what the name of the association is i could prolly find the forum for you: example - North Carolina's association is NCYSA, so i would go to google and either type NCYSA soccer forum, or NC soccer forum....

http://www.talking-soccer.com
that site should give you an all around look for wat you want, it breaks down all the way from nation wide play, to region play, and then to state play...
I havent used it before though so i dont know if it has an area for you to put yourself out there for colleges to see you...
