Today we play to be the first of the group. That can be very important to have easier games in the second round.

The team have traveled without Zidane and Raul - Injured, and Ronaldo, Cambiasso and Makelele for Del Bosque decision.

There are many espectacion to see the team in Belgium. Yesterday, There were 5000 people only to see the Real Madrid train.

The team will be first of the group making the same result that the Roma.

a horrible game one more time. for once they had some scoring opportunities but mister morientes can't deliver. he's got to go.
del bosque insists on respecting seniority even if it is obvious that portillo is better.
there's no team , no midfield, flavio and celades are worse than cambiasso and makelele. figo can't even get away from his abuela.
guti isn't as great as he thinks he is and his early goals were pure luck.
most of madrid players are weak on one on one too many touches in midfield ,hardly ever threaten the other team which in turn always has an easy time defending against them because the way they play is very obvious, keep the ball and wait for a player to invent a goal.
del bosque says that people go to the games to admire the stars and madrid way of playing is supposed to be a sort of a show. well, this team plays in a terrible manner, there's no show only frustration for te fans who watch them.I think florentino made the wrong decision his gamble didn't pay off. the money spent on ronaldo could have been used to better the defence and the midfield.

Genk 1 - Real Madrid -1

Finally played:

------------César
Miñambres------Hierro----Pavón---Roberto Carlos Figo------Celades---Flavio Conceiçao
------- Guti----Tote----Morientes

Goal by Tote

Macca for Figo
Solari for Moriente

Bad game, The key players of this Real Madrid are Zidane and Raul. Raul have been injured or not at 100%, the 90% of the games and Zidane had played well but he can play alone. Roberto Carlos is other key player and he is playing well, but in his position he can lead the team.

Without them the team play at low level. Yesterday was other example. Figo begin this year playing very well, but after his injury - three weeks out - he is playing poorly. Cambiasso was playing great but in the last games he is one of the worse of the team. And that is a very bad new because Celades and Flavio seems like If they did not want to take advantage of their opportunities of play. The other option is Helguera but nowadays he is exencial in the center of the defense.

And Morientes has always have a weak mentallity and now that the things are not good for him is like if he was floating on the field. He must take example of Solari. Tote that is the last forward of the team is three speeds over Morientes.

Well, we still can win all but the team is playing with fire. Not always it will happen that the AEK tie with the Roma in the last minute to make us the first of the group.

An more bad news. Hierro will be injured for 3 weeks. He won't play against the Barsa and in the Intercontinetal final in Japan.
