Anybody know the extent of Benzema's injury yesterday?

looks like he'll miss the Lille game but should be ok for the Barca leg, nothing too serious. I'm actually glad he'll miss the Lille game because he could use a rest and Piquionne needs some playing time if he's gonna be the only other striker from now on.

it's a good match to try piq in too: to get offside at villeneuve d'ascq he'll have to be in one of the outside lanes of the running track!

Well apparently Benzema reinjured his hip and may not be able to play against Barcelona.
But that's okay because we have Piquionne, who is going to make that Barca back four cry.
Oh wait...

This Benzema injury is a joke because all the top European teams have good depth at every position so for Lyon to be so thin at that position is very inexcusable. Bayren Munich for example has Toni, Klose, Podolski, and Donovan as their forwards and they are all full internationals. I know Fred left but he's was a pretty weak #2 for a large European club anyway. I dont feel bad if they lose because I dont like how they built their team.

my guess is that doubts about both benzema's and boumsong's conditions is intox. they'll both be there.

This is an interesting tidbit but they should have done this last summer instead of waiting until it may be too late to convince him to stay. Also I dont think Trezeguet is too old and injured I think fans would love to have him.

intox or not, Bezema and JAB were in real pain against Lille and need time to heal. they're in the group but are they gonna be at 100%?

sure there are reasons to feel blue, with the ladies going out against duisburg, the men getting trounced by... (small comfort to see bayern doing even worse)...
but here's some real balm for our hearts. because thinking football is all about results is like thinking life is all about money. from yesterday's edition of le progrès:
At Lyon since 2004, Cris (31, 27 matches and 1 goal in L1 this season) is as happy as ever at OL. The Brazilian has no intention of leaving and has already refused offers from big european clubs. "I want to stay here. I love life in France, my family is very happy in Lyon. I get along great with Boumsong, the new Caçapa. Milan was interested in me two years ago, Juventus last year, but I deceded to stay because OL has given me everything.

I saw something about OL contacting the Montreal Impact about playing a match vs them in Montreal this summer and I was wondering if there is any truth to this.

i can't say it's an absolute certainty but a north american tour is a project aulas has had at heart for a couple of years, so it is far from improbable.

No one cares to mention that We've probably lost the title this weekend, and looked like crap doing it?

well, it's starting to look grim. a day we all knew had to come, but couldn't really admit actually would arrive, looks very real now.
it's hardest for the little ones. my son for example has never seen OL not champions since he attained the age of reason.
the title isn't lost... yet. 6 points in our matches against PSG and OM have become a condition necessary though not sufficient. after that, there are enough points left in the bag, and the rest of our schedule such that OL will be champions... if they play like champions.
that said, and i risk being burned as a heretic here, missing out on the CL would indeed be catastrophic but would it be the end of the world if we finished 2nd or 3rd? it happens to all clubs, no matter how great, and the challenge for the players, the club, and the fans is bouncing back, keeping a champion's attitude even when you're not champion. if benzema and toulalan stay, gerland keeps filling up, and aulas can keep balancing the budget and get OL Land on track, it will be a positive answer to a nagging question, and perhaps even more important than keeping the hexagoal in the cabinet... damned thing's only plastic, and already chipped at that! bon pour des goujats! :p
