the team looks like shite without juni and karim. plain and simple. This team has a tough go when its missing parts. The bench is not deep. Keita doesn't have what we need. It's time they think about looking elsewhere. Piquionne was absent. No engine. Even Toulalan is making uncharacteristic mistakes.

You mean without Bodmer, Reveillere, Clerc, Govou, Fred, Benzema and Juninho. More than half the starting players of our best team!

You mean with out two players who have been non factors all year, two i mentioned, and one who actually played!!

That should be interesting, to say the least. But we're qualified, now's the time to experiment right?

i'm hearing that with cris suspended against munich, toulalan might have to play along side boumsong!well, mensah's MRI showed nothing and i felt all along that his "injury" warming up this weekend was something he could probably have played with, but only at a risk of pulling the muscle for real... i'm sure he'll play tomorrow, if not he's the wussiest wuss ever to be nicknamed "the rock"...

which leaves gassama to fend of ferraribéry... poor RVR, i felt this was the match and matchup that was going to get his back in bleu...

That's good to hear that Mensah will probably play. Though was kinda interested to see Toulalan in the spot. But to play there against such competition would be unfair. To be honest, if this match wasn't at le Gerland, I'd say Les Gones get wrecked.

Bodmer, Clerc, and Pjanic are back in training with the rest of the squad although I dont think any of them are close to being able to play yet.

Fred says he'll stay at Lyon until his contract runs out in June.

Here's an interview I did today with youngster Ishak Belfodil who just signed with the Lyon Academy despite interest from Chelsea:

I'd appreciate any feedback!

i had yesterday off and went with my wife to take the dog to school and walk the kids... or something like that!

anyway, we went a bit farther afield than usual, all around the back of tola vologe, where the groundskeepers keep their stuff, and plied up in a corner were juni's broken toys...

http://www.stadia-sports.co.uk/images/products/FB.TW-2.jpg

there were three sets of them and i mean they were beat to all living hell!

also got to see OL's trophy case, which while not as impressive as real madrid's, is worth a look.

the coupe de france is a very handsome trophy. and i had forgotten that the trophy for our first title was pre:

http://www.parlonsfoot.com/album/img2/trophee.jpg

which means the originals of three different trophies are in the case.
the old cup is not particularly attractive but at least it was real silverware; up close the playmobil trophy looks even more like the cheap plastic it is, and it seems someone took a knife to it in one area; had to be a lyonnais since no one else ever won that monstrosity! as for the hexagoal, it would be the nicest of the three but for the fact that it's not the stainless steel it looks like... plastic again, and the paint is already coming off it. pathetic.

Yea guys...I don't know if anyone has been watching Barca play lately, but I think OL is going to get killed.

Yes, say yourself that March is not December, everything is possible, Metz itself did it, etc, etc... :)

a couple of odds and ends...

guignol jr. went to the theater with his class last friday, and saw claude puel in the lobby!

govou's got his face plastered all over lyon... no, not like that you imps, he's on billboards for a local hardware store! not exactly like doing commercials for renault or being on FIFA09, but homespun and endearing.

interesting match in nice. 2-1 so far in the second half and nice are reduced to 10 men after a red card for a tackle from behind on ederson.

Been a lot of chatter on the web about Benzema leaving this summer again and even some declarations from Aulas that now might be a good time to cash in on him.

Benzema has said that he will wait till after the Barca clash to make up his mind.

he should stay until 2010 at least (after the world cup), he's only 21, don't want him risk sitting on a bench in another club that could affect his WC performance. the future is still wide open for him. its not like lyon is in a crisis or one hit wonders

note that everything being said is xyloglotte, and will change a several times before the season's over.
