well, right now the CFA team is playing the semifinal against bordeaux on good old field n°10, and i was supposed to be there with G Jr... except my boss decided that a certain meeting was more important than the match (bosses are silly that way sometimes...) now it's halftime and i have no chance of getting there before the end... :(

The Lyon CFA beat Bordeaux, 3-1, and will meet Rennes in the final.

almost, inara!

OL won the PK shootout; score after 120 minutes was 2-2, OL's goals coming from damien plessis and sylvain idangar. joan hartock blocked 2 shots in the shootout.

all the more impressive when you think that a couple of months ago they were fighting to stay up!

final in brittany this saturday against rennes who also won in a PK shootout against lille..

Laville I would say was definitely a very good servant to you all. Very consistent player.

Laville I would say was definitely a very good servant to you all. Very consistent player.my very first favorite player at lyon. i've always had a soft spot for central defenders being one myself, and laville is one i'll never forget. there was a poll on the olweb forum a couple of years back to vote for the top 100 gones. sonny obviously first, i think juni second... and i believe flo laville finished 4th.

still on memory lane:

Leicester : N'Gotty arrive (05/06/2007)

I miss those days when Lyon used to stir my imagination. I wish I could stop caring but now I've grown too attached to them. Ah...

If N'Gotty was 26, Raymundo may pick him! He's not a Scorpio. J/K!

well, since we're rockin' to the oldies here, i've got lotsa news...

first of all, football is still going on at gerland... last friday it was the CSI (international school at gerland) dads' and teachers' tournament and "england", including yours truly, lifted the cup at the end!

http://www.oneposter.com/UserData/Poster/Poster_22608.jpg

that's me on the right with no hair, and richard on the left with no teeth.

next on tap, tonight's the sonny anderson jubilee match, which should be loads of fun. i don't know who all will really play, but the latest list of attendees includes Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Riquelme, Bebeto, Dugarry, Enzo Scifo, Bebeto, Laigle, Delmotte, Vitor Baia, Rui Barros, Roberto Carlos, Edmilson, Marco Grassi, Govou, Roberto Carlos, Desailly, Coupet, Raï, Léonardo...

hopefully we'll see the great sonny score one like he did in the zidane-ronaldinho charity match... while everyone else was just trying to help  jamel debbouze score, sonny gave the fans what they really paid for, saying "f... that s..., check THIS out!"

all the way at the end but worth waiting for...

much longer wait but much better view of the goal:

result of the sonny anderson jubilee:

lions blancs 3-5 men in black

govou ('19)
anderson s. ('55)
marlet ('59)
anderson s. ('65)
adailton (79)
anderson s. ('82)
caveglia ('90)
anderson l. ('90+1)

attendance 30,523

lions blancs (representing OL 2002)
Rémy Vercoutre, Christophe Delmotte, Jean-Marc Chanelet, Eric Deflandre, Philippe Violeau, Pierre Laigle, Eric Carrière, Sydney Govou, David Linarès, Alain Caveglia, Florian Maurice, Steve Marlet, Joël Bats...

men in black (friends of sonny)
Lilian Thuram, Frank Leboeuf, Marcel Desailly, Christophe Dugarry, Raï, José Sinval, Enzo Scifo, Basile Boli, Gilles Rousset...

those who came to see ronaldinho or roberto carlos, well, they were disappointed.

for those who above all wanted to see their old flames it was a grand night. beside the OL veterans, i was especially happy to see scifo and raï... la grande classe...

and of course... SONNY! a hat trick from the man we... love. i don't know if many teams and fans really have a figure like that. he was and remains all things to us.

and his 9-year-old, as is de rigueur in these kinds of events, scored the last goal, and looked darn good doing it!

last remarks: flo maurice almost put in the sweetest goal of all: amorti de poitrine (don't know the english term) and bicycle shot off the post... which comes straight back to him... and he heads it with astonishing force for someone flat on the ground. we went wild.

also notable was the performance of Gilles Rousset, who was between the sticks for OL just before i was a fan... he was outstanding!

We've been invited to the 10th anniversary celebration of Stade de France where we'll play Lille on March 1, 2008. Surprisingly, it's not gonna be a friendly but a real league clash! So much for the spirit

On the OL forums, they are talking about some kind of drug related incident with the players.

News Clip (http://jt.france3.fr/regions/popup.php?id=b69a_1920)

I'm at work and so can't listen to it, but what are they saying that has the forum going crazy?

i can't get the clip. looking at the topic (closed by mod because getting away from the TOE) it seems some OL players MAY be involved... but there are no details... and it is most likely not an A-team player but an academy kid.

more will certainly follow, the mod will reopen thread when there's some real news.
