Qui ne saute pas n'est pas Lyonnais, hey!

5 in a row sure does taste sweet!actually, this is a bittersweet year, because more was possible. losing to milan we could have got over, but not getting the double by playing an awful match against an awful team really leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and i'm sure it's true for aulas, houllier and lots of the players.

the first thing to do is do more than just play out the string. especially since there's a derby to win.

then, the team has to make use of the maturity and confidence they've won to keep the attitude that every year can be their year, that 2006 was a great chance to lift the big ear cup, but 2007 is another chance.

they have to realize that being favorites for a 6th title doesn't mean they'll get it automatically.

i'm confident all of this will be done. the night we lost to OM i had a sinking feeling that my team was at their summit, that it would be downhill from then on, but that was silly. there is every reason to expect next year to be better.

its all down to their ability to keep their best players and sign some new good ones this summer.

they need one GREAT striker!

they need one GREAT striker!the problem is there aren't many out there available. when you look at the names from last summer, half of them (jon dahl thomasson, baros...) are no better than what we have, and the other half (trezeguet, torres...) were just wishful thinking. what we need is for someone to decide he's coming here as a challenge and as a move that comes from the heart (don't laugh, TH is still at arsenal!). adriano is brazilian and is not happy at inter... henry is tight with nino... one way or another, if we do get that bigname striker, it will be for reasons we won't understand, but i think we'll have to make do without, and lokking at how well we did this year, that won't be a tragedy!

the new much announced main shirt sponsor has been revealed.

http://www.olweb.fr/index.php?pid=101002&a=24769&lng=en

theoretically this will clean up the kit, which presently looks like a page in the advertising section of a newspaper. and novotel is an OK logo, but "ticket restaurant" ??? a hobo kit darling! why don't they just scrawl "will play for food" on the jerseys with a sharpie?

At least it's not Quick Restaurant.

At least it's not Quick Restaurant.that's very true for the local market (for those who don't know, Quick is like a french MacDo), but for world viewing having Quick on your shirts would be kind of cool!

actually OL has had some pretty duff shirt sponsors in the past: we still make fun about justin bridou, a local sausage manufacturer!

haha that's great. There's a little Chinese Restaurant in Lyon I've eaten at twice that I liked. Any chance they can sponsor L'OL? It was kind of close to the centre de commercial...

http://fray999.free.fr/GBA/Smileys/whistling.gif = as far as the coolness of kits is concerned : Rennes >>>>>>>>>OL ! :D

I heard that Gucci was part of the François Pinault luxury goods empire. I'd love to see Rennes playin in CL with Gucci sponsors on the jersey ! Would that be hobo darling ? :p

I've never seen such a warm reception for a player who's been struggling all season long to get initiated into his new club. When Pedretti scored his first goal on the turf of Gerland, everyone jubilated. Fans, players on and off the pitch, everyone. The goal was scrappy rather than spectacular, but that did not seem to matter. I was really, really touched by the scene.

I gotta love this club. The team spirit is there, motivation is there, and intimacy of a clan is there. I say screw the trophies, I think I'll always be a faithful till the end no matter what comes between.

Allez Lyonnais!!!

here's how he keeps everybody rooting for him: he busts his butt in practice, keeps cheerful, and always supports all his teammates 100%.

his first goal of the year came in a CFA match; diarra, tiago, caçapa and cris were all watching and came out of the stands to celebrate with him!

the guy who really started this spirit was greg coupet. a couple of years ago he just kept at the team until they had a night out in a restaurant with their wives and girlfriends... plus the brazilians who stick together (example: who put up all the shelves and assembled the furniture when nilmar moved in? cris!) eventually the team realized that they really liked each other! now they all just get together all the time, most recently for a barbecue right at tola vologe...

perhaps it's time to point out that the OL subforum, which struggled to see the light of day, is the most active subforum on the board, even with the recent heavy action on NT due to the WC and with twice the posts of the OM SF. :)

Yes, now we only need an ASNL subforum to truely feel...... compete... :)
