Phillips, Laursen, Delaney, Hendrie and probably Berger all missing. I would like to see Hughes partner Mellberg at the back with DLC at right back. I`m expecting Solano to play but he may be unsettled with this Liverpool link.

Djemba will probably come in since O`Leary will play a 5 man midfield (although he`ll call it a 4-3-3). If Solano is left out Berson will probably play aswell, but we may not have enough players to fill the bench if he does, Taylor, Ridgwell, Cahill and Moore; only four, with about 20 EPL starts between them and none of them midfielders so O`Leary will have to play Nobby even if his heads not right.

Hopefully we`ll get away with a 2 nil loss, hopefully Ronaldo and Keane are out for them otherwise it`s going to be 4 or 5. It`s a Sky match so definite defeat and if we are going to attract Baros we`ve got to pack the midfield and get McCann, Barry and Djemba digging at their midfield so we don`t look to hopeless and get overrun. The only way I could see a win is if we were to bore them to death for 89 mins and sneaked a late corner.

Realistic score: 4-0: Rooney, RVN, Ronaldo and Scholes (who always scores against us). Optimistic score: 0-0. Very optimistic score: 0-1 Ridgewell (90).

I can't see us scoring & I only hope it's not a thrashing. Our squad is awful and having been at VP last week, I can honestly say that we were outplayed by a limited Bolton side. Still could be worse, we could be offering £6M for an injury prone striker who doesn't score many goals...erm hang on!!

I think the game and the result showed we deperately need some pace in our attack and creativity in midfield. Baros is a must and I`d let Solano go if it meant getting Baros in. At least if Solano went we`d be able to bring in a winger to give us some width. Nobby plays very narrow these days, a creative midfielder is needed in the centre, to play alongside McCann.

Overall the 1-0 loss is not the worst result considering its game two. We`ve got four games now which we could get 8 or 10 points from so avoiding a thrashing was the priority. Ridgewell played well which is a bonus, since Laursen could be out for 4 or 5 months. We need the other injuries to clear up and I can see us winning our next two away to Portsmouth and at home to Blackburn.

Why even try to analyze? Not a single player of ours would make it to the ManUSA squad.
