Hey, just moved into DC. I'm staying with my sister in Baltimore right now. (just got a teaching job, start on monday in prince george). Sooo, I'm looking for places to live and I'll be joining the RFK crowd. I'm trying to figure out two things: Barra Brava, Screaming Eagles, or La Norte... And... any tips on apartment hunting?

Thanks. Looking forward to cheering for a champion.

(O btw, if my profile still says crew are my team, well, take into account that was 4 years ago, I lived 6 hours from columbus, so, didn't really get to any games)

Hey,

I notice you're from Newburgh. I'm originally from Evansville. Are you coming to the game tomorrow? If so, swing by the tailgate (check out barra-brava.com for info on where you can find that) its in lot 8 and isn't hard to find. I always have a beer or two laying around for a fellow Hoosier.

Welcome.
My suggestion is to come to the matches, starting tomorrow.
Park in Lot 8, and check out one tailgate a week till you find the group that best suits you.
Barra Brava tailgates on the left just as the road in from 395 meets the parking lot.
Screaming Eagles are about halfway up to the stadium from Barra Brava, on the left.
To be honest, I don't know where exactly LaNorte tailgates.

I wont promise you wont go through Crew Decontamination in the Barra Brava. ;)

Where does LN tailgate? I'd always figured they were sort of with the Barra, but now that I think about it I'm not too sure.

Please change your profile. I can understand being a Crew fan even temporarily, but now you are joining a fraternity. You will learn the songs. You will know the passwords and the secret handshakes. Then come the tattoos.

Warrick County in da house! I lived in Evansville and Newburgh back in the early 70's, when my dad worked for Mead Johnson.

Evansville is Vanderburgh County, but close enough!

Most important tip for apartment hunting...

Don't live in PG!

I would look in the crofton/annapolis area.

they have open invitation to come to our tailgates but I don't think they tailgate much :) They did have a lil tailgate for Chivas game but I couldn't figure out where from pictures, secretive bastards hehe

CrazyF.C. just go to stadium and check all 3 that's what I did first game.

I have seen La Norte around thier cars really early before the games, but mainly I think they like to get in early and heckle the opposition as they warm up and come in and out of the locker rooms.

You will know the passwords
Come on. Who doesn't know it's "Cheatin' Bob"? :D

Welcome. If you want a completly non-Crew experience, stand with the Barra. That is a wild ride, even in the bad games :)

I think some of the LN guys tailgate in the barra. At the Chivas game, they were under the trees where the guy takes the money from folks coming off of Independence(?) not the I-395 entrance.

Depends where you're teaching in PG - it's a big county streching from Acokee to Laurel to Aquasco. I mean if he's teaching near a metro station, then it might make sense for a young single guy to live in the district for the night life etc.

It could really suck, if he's commuting from Baltimore to say Fort Washington HS.

Hang out with the different groups - find out what you like best.

Annapolis is a nice place, except for some of the people who live there...

Public transportation here sucks, though.

Welcome CrazyFC...

Like others said, try all three and then choose, each group brings a unique thing to the table.. But one thing is for sure, they are all fun.

La Norte doesn't tailgate at all... Some of us like to hang out with the Barra Brava at their tailgate, others, like someone said, like to go inside early and hackle the losing team while they practice for the innevitable loss...

We had a little somethin' somethin' last Saturday only cuz it was an early game and a lot of us could be there early.. We are going to try to tailgate more often but I don't think it will become an official, every game day thing like it is for SE/BB.

Again welcome...
