List of "foreigners" for the games vs Czech Rep. and Iran (friendly):
Portar: Bogdan Lobonţ (Ajax Amsterdam);
Fundaşi: Cosmin Contra (Getafe), Flavius Stoican, Cosmin Bărcăuan, Răzvan Raţ (toţi trei Şahtior Doneţk), Adrian Iencsi (Spartak Moscova), Cristian Chivu (AS Roma), Pompiliu Stoica (FC Moscova);
Mijlocaşi: Răzvan Cociş (Şerif Tiraspol), Paul Codrea (Palermo), Daniel Pancu (Beşiktas), Constantin Gālcă (Almeria), Florin Cernat (Dinamo Kiev);
Atacanţi: Adrian Mutu (Juventus Torino) şi Ionel Ganea (Wolverhampton Wanderes).
The game vs the Czechs will be on 3 September and vs Iran on 7 September. Both games in Constanta.
Well, its about time Piturca called up Cernat and Codrea, and its nice to see Ganea get called back up, but I doubt he will see much action in the Czech game. Iensci is back after not being called up also Pompiliu Stoica back since the Dutch game he played surprisingly well that game. And also Galca is back. Well this is it for Romania, a loss and they are out for WC 06.

I am so happy to see Gālcă and Ganea back in the lineup. It reminds me a little of the old team. I strongly believe that Romania can beat the Czechs, especially since the only goal came from the penalty spot in the Czech Republic.

We had better beat those terrorists or I will flip.
Also Romo you may or may not know I was banned from Xtratime and have been awaiting the activation of my new account for weeks. I am unable to post and would like to ask you as a favor if you could ask Lupisor what is going on over there?

Yeah I saw that you were banned, I'll ask him and tell you. Well its a test for Romania against Iran, dont underestimate them, they did make the world cup, so I think its a good friendly.

I think Iran have a good team and will surprise some people at the next World Cup. They have some major contributors in the Bundesliga, and they looked very good at the last Olympics. And of course you can't go anywhere on bigsoccer without Iran fanboys saying how amazing Ali Karimi is.
I can't believe our terrible luck being put in a group with the Czechs and Netherlands. Do you think it's time to start looking at Euro 2008 already? Do we still have one game each vs. Chech Republic and Netherlands?

Hey Dominate, its good to see you come to the Romanian board. Yes we did get the same Romanian luck like always... I think if we were in any other group as the third seed we would have sercured at least a spot in the playoffs by now. This is what is next for Romania September 3rd against the Czechs, we MUST WIN, to have a chance at playoffs theres no way we are going to get 1st place from the Dutch, so dont even worry about them, we lost both times to them because you play everyone twice. So this is what MUST HAPPEN, FIRST Beat The Czechs, if we lose we are out of making the playoffs and say hello to Euro 2008 Qualifying Campaign. SECOND, If we beat the Czechs (which is unlikely and yet likely remembering we lost to them 1-0 off a PK.) then the Czechs MUST LOSE 2 OF THEIR FINAL 3 MATCHES. After Romania, they play Armenia, Holland, and the last match which could prove to be Romania's final fate will be against Finland, who had a great showing against the Czech, they lost on a last minute goal in the 88th min with the score 3-3. So we have to focus on beating the Czechs right now, then worry about Holland and Finland to beat them. If we lose, then we can look forward to a new campaign with new players, no more old out of shape players like Dorinel, we can watch new players blossom like Keseru, Marica, Zicu, Mitea, and many more and they could lead the new Romania. Right now this is just a bad batch of guys. Not a good mix. But we do have something to look forward to. My lineup for The Czechs.

Romania has a poor team right now. We count on players that can not make the first 11 in different teams accross Europe or play in average teams, and the best is Mutu, who in the last 2 years was a substitute at his club(s) (and he will probably continue to be).
Unfortunately the '90 generation is gone.
As far as players, we are one of the weakest teams in eastern Europe. We could have had one of the best coaches (Lucescu), but they didn't want him. Not a good time to be a Romanian fan... unfortunately.

As much as Romania has been unlucky getting #3 world ranked Netherlands and #4 Czech Republic in their group, they've held their own and may pull it out to a playoff. In any case, Romania always seems to be an underdog and play that role well. I was in England in 98 when they beat them in the World Cup. I got such a kick out of rubbing it in for our win and group win against England. I'm also 1/4 Greek so I know (miracles do happen!).

Probable teams:
Romania: Bogdan Lobont; Cosmin Contra, Gabriel Tamas, Cristian Chivu, Razvan Rat; Florentin Petre, Paul Codrea, Dorinel Munteanu, Gigel Coman; Nicolae Dica, Adrian Mutu.
Czech Republic: Petr Cech; Zdenek Grygera, Rene Bolf, Tomas Ujfalusi, Marek Jankulovski; Karel Poborsky, Jan Polak, Tomas Rosicky, Vladimir Smicer; Milan Baros, Jan Koller
Referee: Terje Hange (Norway).
Dica up front (Rolls eyes) ridiculous line up. Should be Pancu and Cernat in there. Instead we still have Munteanu and we have Coman??? I still havent given up hope, but I wont be one bit surprised if we lose. Just upset of having no Romania in the World Cup. At least my other team the U.S. will make it...
