In my opinion, alot of the Beatles music sounds terribly dated. While alot of Stones stuff still sounds contemporary. The Stones also deal with themes that are still common in modern music and society, i was listening to "Heartbreaker" the other day, besides being a rocking tune, it talks about black kids getting shot by cops and kids killing themselves shooting dope. Could have been made yesterday.Yep. Absolutely agree. "Satisfaction" isn't just about the sixties.
Sadly, they have gone too commercial for my taste now, but the great music they made will live forever.

I'd add Goats Head Soup to that list."Dancin' with Mr D"- one of the best starting riffs ever!!

Well its hard to rock out for 40 plus years, pretty much anything after "Tattoo You" has sucked, but they still slip a decent tune in here and there, i just don't bother buying the records.
Right now i'm listening to Kate Bush's "Hounds of Love", great album.

It seems like each album has a couple that get back to their rock roots. I liked "you Got Me Rockin'" for example, but I was talking more about the attitude of the band than the music. It is hard to stay true to RnR for 40 years. Neil Young has probably come the closest that I know of.
Right now i'm listening to Kate Bush's "Hounds of Love", great album. Right now I'm off to bed. Morning comes early on the East Coast. Take 'er easy.

I like the Beatles and the Stones equally. Here are my top ten albums:
1. “Revolver,” the Beatles
2. “Exile On Main Street,” the Rolling Stones
3. “The Joshua Tree,” U2
4. “London Calling” the Clash
5. “Bringing It All Back Home” Bob Dylan
6. “Europe ‘72″ the Grateful Dead

8. “Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars” David Bowie
9. “Pet Sounds” - the Beach Boys
10. “Love Power Peace - Live @ The Olympia Theater in Paris” James Brown

Speaking of the Beatles and parties, I'm planning on having a Beatles themed party where everyone comes dressed as a character from a Beatles song, and then they have to sing that song karaoke style. I was thinking of doing it for Halloween, but may wait until spring when I'm looking for an excuse to throw a party.

lol...I was just thinking to myself "where has coach been?"....
my most humble apologies. I lost touch with the Sun Belt when Old Dominion University (Go Big Blue!!!) left the conference. I grew up a block away from ODU- my Backyard University :D
Apology accepted. Unfortunately, this is the only pic I can find of Fouts Field (which now seats 30,000, about 10,000 more than when I was there), home of the Mean Green:

Next time you're at a party, throw on a Beatles record, and watch the fun grind to a halt. Then try the same with the Stones. I'm not trying to say that the Beatles didn't make great music, they did. Its just not any fun, really.
Didn't you see Ferris Buellers Day Off? They threw on 'Twist and Shout' and all of downtown Chicago rocked out!! There goes your theory anti! ;) :D

Sorry to hear about your son. Is he feeling better today?
As for Friday with Jill, I told her the truth. She was upset, but sympathetic. We agreed to remain in touch as friends. Which is fine with me.

Yeah, but it was a song originally sung by Chubby Checker.
And that's about the extent of my music knowledge!

Yeah, I can't decide yet - perhaps Mr Kite. Not sure.
