Ryan, have you been smoking all the dope with Phishy not around? Or is your depth just over our heads?

On the road this afternoon, folks. One of our member communities secured several $M in grants to improve a poorer neighborhood (yay!) based in part on applications and plans made by yours truly (double yay!). Now it's time to begin the implementation.

Play nice, play hard, but most importantly try to have fun!

That's a great one, but my favorite is from 10/19/74 @ Winterland. They actually used it on disc three of the "So Many Roads" box set. So, so, good. I used to spend a lot of time on the dead.net boards, and suggested that one and the 12/31/84 Shakedown Street as the best representations of each, and someone must have agreed because they both ended up on that box set. In fact, they're both on the same disc!

Probably my favorite dead song ever.

I have always loved 'Althea' and they played it only sparingly over the years. Makes it even better when you find it!!

a) Holy s***! Is Rick really just 26 yo? Based on that election hoopla I was assuming in the 40's! :p My bad, Rick. 'Course, I haven't known you as long as many of our friends here.

Election hoopla!!!! one way of putting it I suppose!!! :D

Yeah, Im 26. Ive decided that by the end of the year I am going to make it to "the deep south". So that means looking for a crappy game away that will be on TV in the US. How far in advance to the fixtures get released for TV purposes?

That picture is completely off-base in regards to people in the south!!! Hardly anyone carries a pitchfork anymore! ;)

Well, we only have about a 2 week notice of which matches will be aired. But, most Arsenal matches are shown, especially if it is against one of the 'more known' teams.

Let us know when you are heading this way and where. I'll try to meet up with you lot!

Actually, the term has been embraced in some circles as some sort of bizarre badge of honor. I think this can be traced back to the "blue collar" comedian, Jeff Foxworthy, and his whole, "You Might Be A Redneck..." routine.

the 'term' might be gone but the concept sure isn't.
