The best center forward ever, in fact the best footballer ever is none other than Alfredo DiStefano.

Ian Rush at club level, but unfortunately for him Wales were a poor team on the International circuit.

My top 5 strikers have got to be:
1/ De Stefano
2/ Pele
3/ Jimmy Greaves
4/ George Best
5/ Eusebio
Would have put the mighty Jeff Astle in there, along with BIG Cyrille Regis, but I think them 5 just shade it!!!

Gerd Muller is the greatest. My personal favourites are Paolo Rossi and Fabrizio Ravanelli.
Pele and Di Stefano weren't centre forwards.

That depends. As what do you qualify the withdrawn forward? I consider those a forward too.

Di Stefano was definitely a centre forward in his era, but would probably have been classified differently today.

I never saw Di Stefano, Eusebio or Pele play, so I can not talk about them. I remember Van Basten when I was young, I was so impressed by this player. Ronaldo at his early years was also extremely good ! In the last 20 years, those 2 are the 2 strikers that looked the most impressive to me.
