Commisioner Garber will be paying a visit to The Highbury Pub on September 8th and we would like to gather an appropriate welcoming committee. Joe says the place can hold 100 folks and there's always more room on the sidewalk, so the goal is to get at least 100 MLS Milwaukee supporters into the joint for the visit.
So, far all those planning to stop by and for all those planning to bring family, friends and others along with you, feel free to use this thread as a bit of an RSVP.
For my part, I'll be going and I'm pledging to bring at least five others with me and I will confirm that down the line.
So there we are, 5 toward the 100, only 95 to go!
Let's get the numbers pledged before September 1st and confirm folks after that. I'm sure Mr. Wilt would be happy to buy the high host a beer, actually I shouldn't speak for him so I'll buy the high host a beer, but I'm broke at the moment so Minnmann I need to borrow a dollar, if you could wire that to me I'd appreciate it. LET'S SEE SOME PLEDGES! Address etc. below

I have to pick up my brother at the airport that evening in Chicago. Can we start some kind of petition that people can sign in favor of a team? I want a way to show my support!

So, we've got a total of eight folks now who have piped up that they have time to sit down and have a drink with Garber. Must have offended somebody with this post. I'm about to take my six folks and go to the Stones concert.

So what, we are going to have like 10 people there? Need to get the word out. I just emailed Joe Katz (and other people are encouraged to do that). Also talk to anybody you know that would be interested in attending the meeting (friends, media, etc). And be there by 5:15 if possible.
Remember, next week the Milwaukee based people really need to hit UW-Milwaukee, Marquette, and other colleges (more so on the north side of town) about the game on the 10th of September. We have to do as much work as possible since the Wave are probably not going to advertise the game.

I finally got my work schedule for this week, and good news, I'm in. I doubt I'll have anyone to come with me, but it's at least one more person.

Can't speak for marquette but UWM has its annual Panther Invitational Tournment that weekend so most of the soccer fans from that school will likely be at that game. Its the home opener so it would be a good time to do some ground level promotion of the "Milwaukke in MLS" effort.
Have you asked the local clubs and university teams to attend this Highbury thing? I am confident you can get a sizeable amount from those groups, maybee not 100 but 30-50 is possible with proper notification.

If someone can convince Midwest Airlines to give me a free ticket to MKE on Thursday, I'll be there. Otherwise, I'll just be present in spirit from Columbus.
Don't know how much chance any of you will have to actually talk, not just to Garber, but to any of the dignitaries who might be present, but I offer forth the following small bit of advice: Let them know of your involvement in, and passion for, US soccer in general. This project, if it happens, is bigger than just a team in MKE, it would connect the city to a greater world. These people saw what happened in Columbus on Saturday (I think they were at that watch party Peter referred to). Well, let them know that many of you were in Columbus for the game (I hosted people from 3-4 states at my house); those that couldn't be here would have loved to have been, travel to other Nats games, and certainly followed the match on TV. Milwaukee in MLS means that the city becomes an active player in something much bigger than the activity spawned by one professional soccer team. You guys all know that, but many of them might not make that important connection.

Good points above by MINNMAN.
There will be MLS giveaways at the Highbury (miniballs, League guides etc.) and free beer, too! Look forward to seeing everyone there. Tomorrow's an important day for this project.
Your support is appreciated.
