View Full Version : We have only two reliable strikers...

How long does Fergie think we can get away with having
two viable strikers in Rooney and Ruud...I agree that
Smith is probably better suited at midfield. But robbing
Peter to pay Paul might not have been the way to go.
Without a suitable addition we are running the risk
of burning out Rooney and Ruud by Christmas. I doubt
we have time to make a move by the 31st but I do hope
we add to the squad during the January transfer period.

Saha will be back, Ole may make it back and Rossi is in the wings. Smith can always move up in a pinch ... we aren't that bad off.

Instead of responding to Mrs. Neave, how about using this thread to propose similarly inane threads that could be started. For example:
United trailing West Ham based on total goals!
United too dependent on players with names beginning with R!
Andrew can't perform if United wears blue kit!

Whats wrong with Rossi off the bench? Give the kid some playing time and see what he can do!

you forgot the most important one...
what are we going to do now that we just let Everton have midfield dynamo Phil Neville who's spraying passes, lofting crosses and firing shots with allllll kinds of accuracy!?!?!?!?!?! what will we do without Skill Neville? Now we've lost our direct replacement for Scholes, Keane, Ronaldo and even our 4th string backup to Ruud.
Oh Why oh Why did we have to sell Skillip Neville?!?!?!?!?!

Youre all forgetting the dire goalkeeping situation!
What should happen if Van Der Saar, Howard, Foster and Steele are all injured??
Fergie sign Buffon and Casillas and SORT IT OUT!

I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would've actually given us money for Phil....

Jokes aside, Phil is going to do a job for them... he played quite well for them and w/ their system they don't need anything more than he offers at the DM position. ie, tackling and limited, very limited distribution as they play 4 accross the center and 1 behind the striker. They probably also need him as cover for Pistone as well.
Phil's move is a win for both clubs.

This is a valid point - I mean let's get serious - OLE, SAHA, FORTUNE are not the most reliable guys to stay healthy and RUUD you know is going to get hurt - just sign OWEN and get it over with...

I do not have a chicken little mentality I think this and
the midfield situation are genuine concerns and
food for discussion.
We solved our biggest problem with the aquisition
of Van Da Sar. I would just like to see us acquire
more quality depth up front...

Ruud, Rooney, Smith, Saha, Rossi, Ronaldo, Park, Giggs and maybe Ole. I guess she has a point. Let's get another forward and ignore our more pressing needs.

Post fixed.... Try watching United play and try paying attention to the club and it's other supporters before posting uneducated inane dribble.....
