TICKETS Tickets are $20, payable at the La Norte ticket booth near Gate B at RFK. Gate B is the first set of gates you see if you walk to RFK from Lot 8. There are three ticket booths on your right that look like pillboxes. The furthest one is La Norte. All tickets must be sold there to avoid security hassles.

PLEASE BRING CASH ONLY FOR THE TICKETS. We're not equipped for credit cards or checks at game day. You can change your reservation order up until Nov. 15. After that, we expect everyone to show up. If you can't make it, please let me know. We're down to our last few tickets and I don't want anyone getting shut out our section.

The La Norte ticket booth will be open from 12:30 to 2:00 PM for distribution.

Our section (Section 120) is general admission. Don't pay attention to the seat number on your ticket. Once you're in, you're in.

We will have a VERY SMALL number of game-day tickets available. Don't take chances and set your group reservation now.

PREGAME

Our pregame meeting area will be the Hill in Lot 8 at RFK. If you drive to RFK, you will park in Lot 8 or nearby. If you take Metro, please read below for instructions to get to Lot 8.

PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO BE AT OUR MEETING AREA IN LOT 8 AT LEAST 2 HOURS BEFORE KICKOFF (1:00 PM). The reason for this is simple. We have about 150 balloons to inflate, 10-15 trash bags of confetti to prepare, 200-300
streamers to pass out and tickets to distribute. We need everyone there to help.

NOTE: United for DC is having a canned food drive. I hope everyone brings at least one can of food for the drive.

There will be beer and some other beverages at the tailgate but we're not planning on doing food.

Feel free to bring your own streamers, flags, etc. Everything should be pro-USA so no St. Georges, no flags of foreign clubs, etc.

We will march into the stadium en masse at around 2:00.

***********
DURING THE GAME

We expect security to be tight. Just about everyone knows why, and we won't get into that discussion here. Please refrain from smoking and throwing things onto the field during the run of play. As usual, we can get away with throwing streamers and the like before kickoff.

As you all know, we will stand and sing for 90 minutes. The songs are pretty easy to pick up. If you can't make out the words, hum along. If you are bringing people to their first match, please explain to them what they can expect. We should be pro-USA with our songs, but not be racist. I think we all know the line.

ONCE YOU LEAVE THE STADIUM, YOU CANNOT RE-ENTER

GETTING TO RFK:

From Points North and East
Take I-95 South toward Washington DC. When you hit the Capital Beltway, follow the road marked I-95 South/I-495. Follow that around until you cross
the Wilson Bridge into Virginia. Take the Exit for I-395 North toward Washington DC. Follow the directions under TO RFK.

From Points South
Take I-95 North. At Springfield, continue straight onto I-395 North. Follow the directions under TO RFK

From Points West
Take I-66 East toward Washington DC. Take Exit 75 for Rt. 110. After you pass the Pentagon on your right, take the I-395 North exit toward Washington DC. Follow the directions under TO RFK.

TO RFK
Stay on 395 North, across the Potomac River. As you cross the 14th Street Bridge, stay to the right onto I-395 North. Once past the Maine Avenue exit, stay in the left lane of the freeway. I-395 will exit to the right to the Capitol and Senate buildings. Do not follow I-395 North; stay left for the stadium. Continue in the left lane. You will see a sign that says Freeway Ends. Stay in the left lane. If you stay in the left lane and do NOT take any exits, you will come under an overpass and right into the Lot 8 parking lot Entrance. Pay the parking fee of $10. Continue down the road until you come to the hard top parking area. That is Lot 8. After you park, walk toward the stadium. You will see the La Norte area on the hill near the tunnel.

ON METRO
RFK is on the Orange/Blue line at the Stadium/Armory Stop. Take the Metro
to that stop. Exit and follow the road to the stadium. To find La Norte, go to the right of the stadium down toward the parking lots. You will see a small tunnel under the road that will lead to Lot 8. La Norte is on the hill on other side of the tunnel.

From Union Station
Take the Red line toward Shady Grove. Travel three stops to Metro Center. At Metro Center switch to the Blue/Orange line headed towards Addison Rd./New Carrolton. Travel eight stops to the Stadium/Armory stop at 19th and East
Capitol St. Exit the Metro and Follow East Capitol St to the Stadium.

NOTE: These directions represent the way I know how to get there. There are other ways, but I've laid out what I believe is the easiest. For more
directions go to www.dcunited.com or www.rfkstadium.com.

Parking is $10

HOTELS

For anyone coming out of town, I recommend the Governor's House Hotel in DC. Close to everything, especially Adams Morgan for nightlife. Relatively
inexpensive if you split the room with another person.

While DC liquor stores are closed on Sunday, you can still buy beer and wine at supermarkets and delis, just like VA (where the "VA ABC" state liquor stores are also closed on Sundays). I have no idea what the deal is in Maryland, but maybe someone else can post that info.

If you're staying at the Governor's House hotel, you're not far from the Logan Circle Freshfields (okay, so they took down the Freshfields sign, and now it's just a Whole Foods Market...it'll always be Freshfields to me!), which has a very good selection of beer at (believe it or not) fairly decent prices. Of course, everything else in the store will cost you an arm, a leg, and your firstborn child. I bought beer there just this past Sunday. Mmmmm, beeeer.

Freshfields is on P St. NW b/t 14th and 15th.

In Maryland it varies county to county.
Howard and Frederick are definately open Sundays. Carroll is definately not open.
I think Baltimore City may be closed and Baltimore County open...I haven't a clue about PG County or points south.

Either way you can buy carry out from bars in most counties. Some bars even sell pints of liqour and the like.

By the way, the directions for people coming from the North and East are a little roundabout. You can also do one of the following:

1) I-95 South to US-50 West (or just straight 50 West, if you're coming from Annapolis). 50 West to MD/DC-295 South, which becomes I-295 South (follow the "To I-295" signs). From 295, take the E. Capitol St. exit (there is a "to RFK Stadium" sign), cross the Anacostia river on the E. Capitol St. bridge, and the stadium is right in front of you. Follow the signs for Lot 8 - you have to circle the stadium, and keep a sharp eye out, because that particular entrance to Lot 8 is easy to miss.

2) I-95 South to 295 North, last exit before the Wilson Bridge. 295 North to E. Capitol St. Follow directions given above. NOTE: I've never gone this route myself, but I assume that there is an exit to E. Capitol St. westbound (towards downtown) from 295 North, since there is one from the south. You might want to double check on Mapquest before attempting this route.
