Let's say all players are in the middle of a 5year contract and thus would cost their zenith, which national team xi under such circumstance would fetch the most if all xi players were sold in one Summer?

Obviously we are talking amongst all the top clubs and excluding Chelsea as they are willing to pay what no one else is.

I suppose you can divide the players into brakets:
£10m and under,
£10-2£0m,
£20-£30 and
£30m+ players

Noiw knowing what we know about certain players and how much they were sold for (Buffon,Nesta, Ferdinand etc around £30m) and knowing that some players would fetch over £30m: Ronaldinho, Adriano, Henry..and possibly some others..can we create a clear picture of which NT is 'worth' the most?

I think at first it may seem as though Brazil would walk it as their forwards and OM would cost a LOT of money...but it is tempered by two aged FB's who due to age would fetch a pittance and 2CB's who are not coveted. Dida would fetch a tidy sum however. In contrast England's backline would probably fetch the most money as a back 5 in world football by quite some way onlyy really challenged by Italy (because of Buffon and Nesta)

England's midfield would fetch the most of any nation imo. Lampard and Gerrard are hugely coveted, Beckham and J Cole are no slouches in the transfer market either. Maybe Spain's runs them the closest?

Anyway give a 1,2,3 of who you think are the most expensive 1st teams on earth. If you do the exercise properly it is a lot harder then would first seem. You should also consider a player's value on an international market to get an overall picture, imo those who are 'universal' - can play in any top league are obviously going to fetch a lot more.

Ashley Cole worth more than Lampard? Having a bit of a laugh there. Also, Terry would be woth a lot more than Campbell (based on age). And do you really think Beckham coudl fetch up to 20M these days? I certainly don't.

I agree with England. If you look at their current XI (age of birth):

Robinson (79); Cole (80), Terry (80), Ferdinand (78), G Neville (75); J Cole (81), Lampard (78), Gerrard (80), Beckham (75); Rooney (85), Owen (79).

None of the players are that old and most are key players for their respective club sides. Several are arguably in the top 5 world players for their positions. Add to this the way English players tend to have over-inflated transfer values. Of the players above only Neville might not command a £10m transfer fee minimum. Half would command around £30m. I therefore fail to see how this cannot be the most expensive NT XI.

It would be easier if we call the above groups A - D and decide upon the NT XI's before discussing their values.

If the prices are going to be based on realistic values then it would definitely be England because all English players are overpriced except for little Mickey Owen. They always seem to go for about 5 to 10 million more than they would if they weren't English.
