Here we are. The war is here. Throw all those niceties out the window. No time to fraternize with the gooner scum. Next Sunday,<st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1 ="">Englands</st1></st1:country-region> best football team - Chelsea - will be playing the team most likely to finish third - Arsenal.
Wenger is already very excited about next season and the clubs new stadium - a great big library in <st1 ="">North London</st1>, great acoustics, apparently you will be able to hear a pin drop from the dug-out. But this season his side might struggle and they cannot possibly be as strong as his squad last season that actually had Patrick Viera in the side. Also, Sol Campbells absence at the back has to be a big blow for the French side. Van Persie has made a bright start for them up front – whats happening with his rape charges btw? Reyes seems more settled than the player last season that insisted that there were “bad people” in the Arsenal dressing room. All in all the Arsenal side will be up for it. <o =""></o>
I think arsenal will prove to be tough opponents next week. <st1:city w:st="on"><st1 ="">Chelsea</st1></st1:city> haven’t really got into their stride as yet and I feel we will have a slow start to the season. Lampard and Robben in particular both seem that they are not yet match fit.
<o =""></o>
The big questions: Who will play alongside Lampard and Makalele in the middle? I think it will still be Eidur if he is fit. I doubt Essien will be making his debut just yet
Will Crespo start ahead of Drogba? I think he might. He scored and Drogba didn’t. Simple as that. Crespo is the better player in my umble opinion.
Who will get the two wide spots? Duff, Robben, Shaun or Cole? In the <st1 ="">Wigan</st1> game Joe Cole was clearly the more lively of the four. I think Jose will however continue to start with Duff and Robben.
Del Boy looks good at the back and the back four will continue to be solid. The midfield will be the same, unless Eidur is injured, and I think Crespo will get the nod up front. Otherwise a pretty much un-changed side for the game against the gooner scum.

Drogba seemed to give Senderos fits in the last match so I'd like to see him start up front and see how he does in the first 45.
2-1 Victory for chelsea. Goals by Robben and Drogba.
So it has been written, so it shall be done...

I think we'll see Tiago in Guddy's role, Duff and Cole on the wings, and Drogs up front.

to start the game? Drogba i agree, but why others? Robben to start with Duff for sure, Guddy to start as well. Depending on the score, Guddy might be replaced by Crespo and we'll play with 2 forwards.

I would love to see get Crespo get the start. He has to be on cloud nine after that goal. Then again Drogba did give Senderos a difficult time. Might we actually start the game with two strikers?
I doubt it. Tough call.

More like Lampard in Guddy's role and Tiago in central midfield behind Lampard. Lampard is currently playing central midfield and hasn't impressed at all there so far this (pre) season.

Since we got bossed (somewhat) by Wigan, I think Jose will start with Tiago and Joey since his object will be to play more compact and stifle the Arse. Most importantly, he views the 1st half as a time when the match can be lost but not necessarily won. I just can't see us starting with essentially 4/5 attacking on the pitch.

SWP is not playing for England tomorrow so I assume he will not be in the starting lineup...if all are healthy, Jose will most likely start the XI that won two weeks at the Cardiff...but I would like to see just once:
..................Cech.......................
Ferreira...Gallas...Terry...Del Horno...
..................Maka........................
SWP...........Lampard............Duff...
..........Crespo........Drogba.............
or maybe:
..................Cech.......................
Ferreira...Gallas...Terry...Del Horno...
..................Maka........................
........Lampard.....J.Cole................
SWP.....................................Duff.
...........Drogba (or Crespo).............
also any word on carvalho and his injury?

I can't see him changing too much to be honest.
I mean, and no disrespect to Wigan, we're playing a team full of skill here.
Arsenal are not all about hustle and bustle, run 'till you drop football.
They are in continued pursuit of the perfect team goal, where all 11 players get a touch before it's passed into the net from 6 inches out.
We'll have our best out there, Tiago isn't one of them.
Gudjohnson may not get to play, but other changes from the charity shield game,I just don't see.

I think this will be really close. The charity shield won't bear any resemblance. Hopefully Senderos will manage to stay goal side of Drogba this time.
If our midfield stay strong (which Im worried about as it is inexperienced against Makalele and Lampard) then we can get the ball moving and to Henry. It will be a good match, but I fear that we will lose the ball too much in the middle of the park where we have been stronger than you in recent years.
Arsenal fans are in the Shed for the first time.......should be interesting..... Im looking forward to picking a suitable Avatar for Clan for next week....... ;)
But in all honesty I expect either a 0-0 or a 1-1 draw on Sunday, which will be a good result for us.
