Soooo.....I'm really eager about this game as I think it will be a lot tougher than Leverkusen.....defense and all. I think Magath should go with the same line-up he used against Leverkusen except give Piza a start this time, it's a home fixture anyways. It just worked so damn well.

----------------Kahn----------------
-Sagnol---Lucio-----Demi------Liza--
--------------Hargreaves------------
-Brazzo--------------------Karimi----
------------Ballack------------------
----Piza-----------------Makaay----

If Schweiny is fit, then let him and Karimi switch off. Put Deisler in the second half and possibly JPG for Claudio towards the end.

As for Marcelinho, our boy Owen will take care of him

;)

A little early for this???

Ismael will be back. Demi moves back to DM.
I wonder if Piggy is recovering? And is Deisler finally up to match fitness?

yeah next game two weeks away - sucks...

piggy should be much better by then though, having been left out for the friendly by klinsy to regain fitness - two weeks should do him a world of good...

deisler has been chosen, so we'll see just how sharp he depending on how much/well he plays vs the dutch...

this will be a tough game... hertha were hard to crack last year as well...

heres to a full 90 mins for ismael!

Welll the guys in the Leverkusen-Bayern thread were arguing so I thought this would take the attention of that away....

Anyways, even though Ismael is back, I'd like to see Demi play one more game as CB because he did real well against Leverkusen. Hargreaves deserves to be in the starting line up too, especially since Marcelinho is the opposition.

Hargreaves is starting like he did last year...hopefully he won't end like he did last year. Sorry...I have no confidence in him to hold his form over the course of a season. Has yet to do it. Besides...it's too early in the season to be solidifying lineups. I usually wait a month or so before I start to see "regulars" I still have my money on Piggy and Deisler to be regulars when they get match fit.

good point about hargreaves, sirmanc... i remember there was an article on fcb.de during last season about hargreaves (i think after his matchwinner vs hannover) and in particular there was a line about how he is amazing as a manmarker in defensive midfield, and has been the scourge of the bundesliga playmakers all season when employed in that role...

would be a safe bet that hargreaves would start based on that and his current form... i do believe that ismael will return to the starting lineup though, which would unfortunately mean a spot on the bench for demi... unless hargreaves plays as LB instead, but i dont see the point of that... maybe brazzo loses his place - im glad this is magaths problem :p

DF - agreed about piggy and basti fantasti... but i say lets enjoy owens form while its there, and make the most of it!

big game again this, one...! lets go for that record win run...!

Yup scorpio.....that was a key factor in the CL back in 2001...came in, inexperienced young lad......it was a risk but he kept Figo I believe at bay and was a vital factor t other eventual tournament win.

How about this lineup:

----------------Kahn----------------
-Sagnol---Lucio-----Ismael------Hargreaves--
--------------Demi------------
-Karimi--------------------Schweini----
------------Ballack------------------
----Pizza----------------Makaay----

Liza is old and needs some rest, maybe Hargreaves can become our regular left back til November when Lahm returns.

I can almost agree with this, but Karimi plays better on the left side, and Schweini also plays better on the left side, so that would be a dilemma since Magath usually starts them on their good sides. Also I WOULD NOT start Schweini this next match because I do not think he will be fit enough. I think Deisler (plays great on right side) will start over him bc there is a better chance of he being in form than a recovering Schweini. I still don't see Schweini getting a lot of playing time until mid september if Magath is smart. You do not want to test him out hard with the injury he had. It could flame up again or become worse, which we don't need. If Schweini starts I wouldn't mind, but I would like to see start playing again in mid sept. That should give Karimi another chance or two to proove that he can handle it in the starting eleven. :D

Why change the starting lineup at all?? No reason to... the lineup that took the field Saturday is virtually the same one that has been deadly the last 1.5 games for Bayern. I say leave it.

Martin Demichelis could very well stay at Center Back IF Hargreave's form continues. It has been a great combination already.

Eissman's Linup:

.................Kahn
Sagnol...Lucio...Demichelis...Liza
............Hargreaves
Brazzo.....................Karimi
..............Ballack
....Santa Cruz....Makaay

That looks good Demi is rocking the CB position and I like Hargreaves at DM. But If you let my nationalistic pride permit, I would like to see Pizza get a start over Roque. Santa Cruz`s second game didnt seem nearly as effective as his first (that game he played very very well) and it seemed like he prematurely gave up on some long balls.

As Sir Manchester will agree to, no way Pizarro starts the next two games... we are on the road. ;) (last season he was scoreless - at least in CLS competition - on the road). At home he is magic!!

Folks.....I really doubt Magath is going to leave his number one signing(Ismael) of the summer on the bench. Important that he and Lucio start working together.

Very true. Provided of course he is not double booked again. He definitely needs the work with Lucio.

Tough circumstances for Ismael, Demi and Hargreaves.....would hate to see Demi and Hargreaves sit out in such great form and Ismael playing based on the fact that he is their new signing.

I understand why it will happen though, just a damn shame...

Well, as I said before, I can see Owen getting a lot of games like Brazzo, as they are our best utility men. If Lucio or Ismael are out, he will probably go to DM.
