He has already stated that he doesn't want to play for Ireland.

I just looked down at the badge on my USA jersey before opening this thread, and I thought, someone Irish in a USA jersey, and then I thought that Bruce should cap Ronnie O'Brien. He would add another dimension to an already a very talented midfield. For next years World Cup, imagine the possibilities: Ronnie, Clint Dempsey, Chris Armas, Claudio Reyna, Damarcus Beasley, Kerry Zavagnin, Steve Ralston, Brad Davis, John O'Brien and Clint Mathis. I think Ronnie playing for the US should be considered a serious possibility.

yup, a few years back there were conversations on how he could be eligible for USA

His father lives in New York, and so a few years back he made public statements about wanting to play for the U.S. in what many saw as a ploy to gain attention for the England team.

It didn't work.

He has no claim for U.S. citizen status.
