Ahh ya big wimp! ;)
Yeah I was mostly just giving you ******** about the game b/c of your silly NY comment.

I do want to get up that way for a match or 2 this season and we should all try to meet up. I just have to plan a bit for it because of the travel time. Hell, with gas cost soaring, it may be cheaper to fly on Southwest!

nice...that's awesome.

morning everyone! Way to get 'em, Ash. He only wishes he knew about the real Franklin St....:p
We'll wait til they hit the final four again and then we'll take a trip there. :) That's the coolest time to be on Franklin. Of course if that were combined with an awesome band at the Cats Cradle and some guacamole and fajitas from Armadillo Grille the trip would be smashing! I hear that the Halloween celebration is supposed to be neat, but weird people in even weirder costumes is just really not my thing.

If I had it to do over again, though, I think I would go to school at UNC-Wilmington. I just love the cute downtown, the bar scene there, and 5 minutes to Wrightsville Beach. The best of both worlds! :)

I thought the gas in Corpus was insanely cheap...due to some agreement to do with the oil tankers.

it might be a while til they are back at the final 4 as the entire squad (basically) left for the NBA....sh!te any UNC b-ball game is good to see at the Dean E. Smith Center....some of my closest friends live in hillsborough.

Cat's Cradle is awesome...hot as hell in the summer but a great venue! I saw a sick ass 3 1/2 hour Burning Spear show there

I like Hillsborough. We always went down there to Hillsborough Hog Fest. They have an interestingly large # of writers there...kind of like Carrboro has a large # of artists. It's pretty cool. We were able to get some really good guests for our bookclub meetings.

I believe that the days of gas under $2/gallon are gone.

good article, but I get tired of people whining about how bad football is now compared to where it was in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Granted I never go to watch it then so I can't compare, but still, support a local club and the noise I hear on games is pretty loud.

Interesting article with some good points and other silly ones. But there is a growing disparity between clubs in the Prem. I wonder if anything like a salary cap would ever be considered? It has helped the NFL to be a more competetive league, but it is really hard to compare NFL with the Prem.

Never. The issue with the NFL is that they have a complete monopoly on the players. Where does TO go if he doesn't like his paycheck? Another NFL team, because that's all there is.

If the Prem institutes a cap, then all the best players end up playing on the continent where there isn't one.

That is the delima. I would love to see a more competetive Prem, but it is hard with only a few big money clubs.

Eh, let the little clubs do as they may.
You want to see competition then I think the CL is the answer.

Hey has anyone else noticed that there has generally been no problem with 'suitable nodes' since our ole friend Mel B left?

Coincidence? PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT!

p.s. haway the lads.
p.p.s. pfffftt sunshine. I love my daughter, my ************ little souped up honda and NUFC.

I would still like to see a bit more competetive Prem where the winner is dictated by quality players and coaching rather than a pocketbook.

a) Had intermittent service yesterday while new software was placed on the network. Fel.... ike talki... ell phone.

b) Between Friday and today the cost for my plane tickets from Atlanta to Albany, NY, rose from $250 to $365 per, all because of the cost of fuel. And this is purchasing two months in advance!! Damn Albany airport is just big enough for regular service but no competition. $1,400 bucks for our family to visit grandma... *sigh*

c) As pointed out earlier, a salary cap will never happen. Best FIFA and the regions could (and should) do is mandate financial standards limiting financial options to those generated by the club. I don't think the G14/16/18 (hey, it's the Big Ten!) would contest this.

None of that would save Italy, though. Their league management is about on par with their politics.
