No, never been over that way but would love to. So many great courses out that way. I really need to hit the lottery. There are way to many places to see and experience.

exactly....the drive is much better and quicker....mucho construction over the past few years have led to a much improved highway into the outerbanks.
yeah they finally got a freeway opened from the norfolk area down to the outer banks didn't they?
yeah, if i remember it correctly croatan was a tribe that resided down in the ocracoke area or something like that

Bald Head Island is supposed to be really cool. It's completely secluded. It's pretty small...no cars allowed...and at least 2 courses and plenty of other things to do as well.
Also the Pinehurst area in NC is notorious for their courses. It is where they held this year's US Open and many tournaments have been held there in the past. I think they have about 8 courses and a golf academy there. It's a very big retirement area.

My favorite thing about the outer banks is how secluded the beaches are. You can even see the wild horses on the beach.
