*Rick reminds himself to not go and meet Ryan when he's next in the States*

why? :D

EDIT: It's not like you would be coming to NYC - you've probably been here before I imagine. Besides,NYC is not nearly out of the way enough for you, me thinks!

so what states haven't you been to? ;)

At least Coach Nutt never had his players watch a bull being castrated as a "motivational tool"...

Arkansas has some beautiful parks and lakes around the Ozarks, as well as a couple of very charming small towns. Perfect for the person looking to spend a three day weekend going horseback riding, play some golf or do water skiing.

Mississippi? I fuel up in Bama or La and then don't stop in between.

Goon morning, everyone.

Some other places in the States I would like to visit (that I haven't been to):

Napa valley
Seattle
Badlands of South Dakota
Devils Tower in Wyoming
coast of Maine
Savannah, GA
Richmond, VA
New York (city and upstate)

Actually, I would like to travel all over the place. :D

I usually fuel up in Bama and try to get across both MS and LA. That is a scary stretch of I-10. Once you hit Orange, TX you know you are going to be OK!

Las Vegas

The Outer Banks, NC
Yankee Stadium (I've been to NYC, but not to here)
San Diego

I've got to ask Cam why Richmond is on the list. That never struck me as a tourist hot spot.

Just wondering, what is there is Arkansas? Any famous places I should of heard of etc? Now Ive got time on my hands, I'd like to see a few States I haven't been to before.
Me, basically, that's it. LOL

Because the state is very rural, it's mostly outdoorsy things to do here like fishing, hiking, camping, boating, etc. The state is basically square. I live in the southwest corner. Because Bill Clinton was from Hope (the town where I live), they have tried to promote tourism with a museum, his home, etc., but I don't think it's much to see.

It doesn't get promoted much, but I think that Old Washington, a little village about 5 minutes outside of Hope, is much more interesting. At one time, it was the capital of the confederacy and they have restored most of the old homes and buildings there (courthouse, etc) and kept the feel of the era. I've been to Williamsburg, Virginia and spent hours and tons of money there, and I've been to Old Washington and spent pennies. And I must say that Old Washington is just as interesting in terms of what you learn and the preserved sites etc that you get to see.

The biggest tourist attraction right now is the new Clinton Presidential Library in the state capital (Little Rock--dead center of the state). They have completely revamped the downtown area over the past 3-4 years and it is great now. I love it. During the day it's coffee shops and the River Market and at night they have great restaurants, bars, piano bars, etc., and lots of great events like outdoor movies. It's very safe too. They close one of the streets down late at night to through traffic, and there are policemen walking around. So my point was that this is the area where they built the presidential library, which basically looks like an airstream trailer that's about to plummet into the river. I haven't been there yet, but the exhibits do sound very interesting, especially considering the controversies that surrounded his time in office and his wife's (perhaps) future political career.

Other than that, Hot Springs (southwest...between hope and little rock) has ...well...hot water springs that you can bathe in with some gay guys, horse races (but it's in the middle of soccer (football) season so don't waste your time), more Clinton crap because he grew up there, and a lot of old people and poor people, but Billy lives there so he would buy you a pint and actually take you to a place that serves something other than watery American beer.

Then there is Eureka Springs, in Northwest Arkansas, for antiques and scenery. It's in the mountains with a beautiful river and very historic looking. They also have a lot of religious stuff here if you are into that. They do an outdoor play on the crucifixion that keeps the bible belters coming there in droves.

That's Ashley's tour for the day...don't forget to tip on the way out... :)

Don't know too much about VA, but figured it would be a good place to start considering all the history. I figured you would chime in once I posted it and supply plenty of new places.

I hope you're kidding about that last one. I've had friends go down there for games who said it was the worst town they've been in...and these are people who have been to Morgantown, WV and went to school in Syracuse!

And there's great irony in the second oldest river in the world being called the "New River".

I dunno, beach doesn't really strike me as appealing at the moment. Kind of holiday where you go with a girl and relax in the Sun. I'd like to see stuff and visit places.

Sounds like some stuff that would be good to see, I guess It's best to combine with somewhere else for a few days as well.......

Not into religion in a major way, but have always been interested in the so called "Bible Belt" so would like to see it for myself. Hot Springs with gay guy's....hmmm, I'll pass - Im not that depressed!!!

When you mentioned Little Rock a few days back I googled it and it seems really nice. Sounds like a nice relaxing two days....

Not really into fishing, hiking, camping etc on my own so thats a no.

A beer with Billy in one town and you in another could complete 4 days or so.....It's a thought!!! I would like to visit the old Capital of the Confederacy as well. Ive always been quite interested in History........

Cheers for all that!!
