I am usually behind on stuff concerning Arsenal, but I have to ask. I went to the Super Target down here in Jacksonville yesterday, and while in the Car Comfort section, one of the advertising banners above the display showed a pic of a minivan stocked full of the target products you can buy. Next to the minivan were two girls, dressed up in soccer jerseys, matching shorts and blue and yellow striped socks. It caught my eye since the jerseys were yellow and had a big O2 on them. I looked closer and noticed they were Arsenal jerseys. I got a little excited at that point. :)
Do you know if Target has any association with Arsenal? It just seems odd they would have Arsenal jerseys on these girls for no reason. (Not that I mind though...)
Thanks.

I bet the person in the Super Target who designed that display is a Gooner.

Holy crap that's awesome! The only other time they've been here they were opening for Greenday... I didn't want to pay Greenday $40 just to see My Chem for 30 minutes. Is My Chem headlining on Sept 15?

As you can see, threads always stay on topic here........ !!!

I don't think so, our sponsors are generally put out in programs, the membership packs and stuff like that. I have never seen Target mentioned before.

Target is located here in Minneapolis, and my league soccer team is comprised almost entirely of Target corporate employees. I also do a lot of work with the photography studio that does a lot of Target's shoots. I will ask if anyone did it on purpose. Target is known for being much more "cultured" than the 'other guy'.. AKA NASCAR-Mart, er, WALmart.

Ha ha! They are known jokingly in the northeast as Target Boutique.

Since it's Target, why wouldn't they use the red Arse jersey instead of the yellow?

I might have to go up there and get a pic of this so everyone can see...I haven't seen this except for the Super Target.
As for the girls, I should mention they were maybe around 10 or 11....

Milkman,

We have to pressure a local bar here in Columbus to start showing Premiership games. Maybe one of the "Irish pubs" in town would do it to fit in with their distorted version of a pub...

Not exactly a big MCR fan, I saw them open up for a band at Che on UCSD's campus...but make sure you don't miss either opening band. Alkaline Trio is an amazing band, and Reggie and the full Effect is one of my favorite live bands ever. I am still up in the air as to whether or not I am going to go to the show...but keep an eye on the upcoming SOMA shows they have an awsome line-up.

Right on, i might actually have to get there early to see the openers. I'm definitely going to both nights at Soma.

Deaner, where have you been all my life?!?!?!

I've PMed you. Another loyal supporter of the Arsenal is needed against the hordes of Celtic-Man U.-Chelsea-Newcastle people who come together like a band of thieves to root against the Arsenal any chance they get.

I replied. Looking forward to going to the pub to catch matches even if it is just two of us against all of them. Besides, I spend another weekend with the TV tuned to FSC for twelve hours, the fiance will beg me to start going to bars!
