According to Sven today on Sky. He wants Owen to go to Manure, so he can play with his friend and elecution tutor Rooney.... :rolleyes:

Because as things stand, Owen would rather spend the three months between transfer windows this season sitting on his arse in Madrid than bumbling around for that car crash of a club on Tyneside.
Locally, rumours persists that the board has mounted a concerted campaign to sweet-talk Rafa into accepting the idea of bringing him back, just by the by. I'd rate it as good as 50/50, perhaps more if the Baros situation suddenly resolves itself.

Probably grasping at straws here but Rafa has pointedly refused to rule out bringing Michael Owen back while, at the same time, stating that he will let Baros go for the right price.
