if they miss out on the Champions League again, all of these big wages are going to cripple them. This is the problem of paying 50-60 grand on the likes of Scott Parker, no more money for quality squad players.

If that is true, then they are in serious trouble.

LMFAO. I was watching a season review of the 02/03 season on Sky. The was a sequence of fans around the grounds and one fatso Codes fan had his tits squeezed by another fan. I don't mean bitch tits or man boobs, proper effing tits. Filled a b-cup at least they would.

No, Shephard is a fat fool with a big ego. He doesn't want to admit he made a mistake so soon over Souness and he needs him as cover for his own incompetence. There won't be a sacking until their season looks like going nowhere. Should be around September then :D

Souness said the squad that finished the season was too small, so then he sells Bellamy, Hughes, Butt and Kluivert - making it smaller still. Adds 7 new players at a great cost and that has increased the squad by 3.

Freddy Shepherd is a businessman and chairman of Newcastle United Football Club.

He is best known for being caught by tabloid journalists mocking the club's own supporters for spending extortionate amounts of money on merchandise, calling female supporters 'dogs', and mocking star striker Alan Shearer, all while frequenting a brothel.

These acts have caused him to be a rather unpopular figure among the Geordies, who widely refer to him as "Fat Fred", "The Fat One", "Fatty Shepherd" or "The Fat ********".

In a speech at a 2004 Football Association conference Shepherd defended the distribution of profits from the sale of television rights, causing widespread outrage when he stated that that the 'elite clubs' such as Newcastle, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal owed little to the lower leagues.

In his 2005 autobiography Bobby Robson provides detailed criticism of Shepherd's chairmanship claiming that, while manager, he was denied information regarding the player's contracts and transfer negotiations.

Shepherd's brother Bruce is widely believed by many to be the driving force of the family's business success, which includes oil services company Shepherd Offshore and a scrap metal dealer. Bruce is also an NUFC board member. The involvement of this company in Newcastle United's operations has led many to speculate that a conflict of interest is taking place.

The Shepherds' current 28 percent shareholding is divided between Shepherd Offshore and Freddy Shepherd himself. There have been widespread rumours that the family may try to gain full control of the club by purchasing the holding of Sir John Hall and his family.
