ADEMAS EL CAMPEON PODRIA JUGAR LA COPA INTERCONTINENTAL
Copa Sudamericana: 795.000 dólares para el campeón
10.08.2005

why isn't the uefa representative the UEFA Cup winner if Conmebol is sending the Sudamericana winner? it's unbalanced. It should be uefa cup winner vs. sudamericana winner or uefa supercup winner vs. conmebol recopa winner.

Actually the Intercontinental cup, if they keep playing it, is gonna be an irrelevant game, since the main focus of attention is gonna be the Club WorldCup. Sudamericana and UEFA are "consolation tournaments", because it is made for teams that did not qualify to the main event (Champions or Libertadores). Off course Argentina and Brasil have so many spots in sudamericana that even bottom-of-the-table teams participate. Remember that the important tournament is the one that features both the Libertadores and the Champions league Champions.

I don't argue that. I'm asking why, if this happens, would UEFA send their SuperCup champion, but Conmebol sends their Sudamericana champion and not la Recopa champion? It would be unbalanced. and if the SuperCup champion happens to be the Champions League winner, how is the CL winner supposed to play this new Intercontinental if they are at Japan in the World Club Cup?

OK, let me re-phrase the answer...

Ellos ya juegan el capricho de Blatter pues, el Mundial de Clubes de la FIFA.
Por eso es que los "super campeones" (recopa winner, supercup winner) de America y Europa van a revivir la Intercontinental.

nope, nao,no
if they ever open a new spot for a 2nd south american team in the WC of clubs should go to the runner up of Libertadores because this sudamericana is a 2nd league tournament and whoever wins do not have what it takes to represent for south america. Brasilian teams play on sudamericana with their replacement players since they care more for Brasileirao, and this cup is such a joke that a mexican team won. can it be any worse??

Who the hell is mexico??
I'm Brasileiro. FIVE TIMES WC Champion! And I have seen with my own eyes Brasil win a WC twice (and I'm sure I will see Brasil winning again before I die another half dozen times) I've have seen my hometown team WORLD CUP CLUBS CHAMPION! What can you say for yourself mexican?? You are never gonna live to see mexican nt or a mexican team winning something like that. Put yourself on your 3rd tier place and bow to the BRASIL POWER! We RULES THIS GAME!
We own all of your astecas clubs. 2 Brasilian finals in the libertadores and you shall see another one this year. Who are you to discuss futebol with me? Put yourself on your place, when it comes do futebol you are a NOBODY mexicano, NOBODY! I have WORLD STARS on my club and NT jerseys, what have you got????

Also you prove you don't know much since the poor corrupted unorganized brazillian teams of Internacional has over 40.000 paying socios and a great stadium (one of the best in South America) and we keep on showing plenty of power with new players as Daniel Carvalho, Nilmar, Pato Alexandre and Rafael Sobis that are giving the club millions of revenue. What the hell comes out of mexico??? ohh don't answer that!
Also Brazilians are so shity but we keep going to the Mundial and beating all of the European teams, last year, this year again and next year again.
We are so lame that we beat the primadonas of Barcelona, what happened to the mexican team that played them??
4x0 and a show ahahahahahahahaha
we put them to cry! can you compare the Brasilian team with the mexican team?? no I don't think so.
BRASIL RULES
keep hating and loosing

Mexican teams proved their worth at the Club World Cup taking a 4-0 asswhup from Barcelona...that later in the week Brazilian Inter defeated.
Mexicans seem to think their Clubs are great...but reality hit hard at the CWC.
And colorado is right, the SulAmericana is a 2nd tier competition and the Champ isnt worthy of being in the CWC...

Didn't São Paulo beat Chivas when it mattered? I recall a 1x0 and 3x0 scoreline in the semifinals. São Paulo may have lost both group matchups, but STILL managed to win the group. Selective memory sure can be convienent..

suddenly the Club World Cup goes from mediocre to a cup that sets the level of a league...
didn't you see America's two other games before going against Barca? they played so bad it was even amazing they got that far:D
but like Mengão86 said, selective memory really is convenient!

Inter lost its last game of the season by the scoreline of 4x1 at home before they went to Japan. Not to mention, the team they lost was a mid-table team.
America made preparations to go play in this tournament, including playing a friendly matchup in Los Angeles versus my club. They didn't have a good gameplan going into the game against Barcelona and that got exposed. Inter, on the other hand, had an excellent game plan and they did just enough to get the win. So much for bad management, eh?

well i know that maybe you don't follow the MFL but just so you know, America was pretty much an embarassment for everything that was expected from them...when they played the CWC they didn't even have a clear starting eleven after 6 months....
like i said, if you watched the games before they played Barca, then you get a better idea of how bad they are playing...it wasnt bad strategy, America just plain sucked
