According to the Chicago Sun-Times (http://www.suntimes.com/output/soccer/cst-spt-soccin10.html), Arena will be announcing the official roster today. I'm sure plenty of BS'ers will be watching like hawks for the release - please post here when it's been located so to avoid 10 threads on the same topic. Thanks.

"Coach Bruce Arena will name his roster today for the U.S. men's national team's next World Cup qualifying match."

I love the games. Keep everyone waiting all day for what is probably already been known for some time.

At the very end of the JOB podcast at USSoccer, the interviewer (who I would guess is U.S. Soccer press officer Michael Kammarman) said the official roster would be released at noon eastern time today.

Six minutes... Six minutes... Six minutes, Dougie Fresh, you're on.

(How old does that line make me?)

First reactions...

Finally, at long last, we will see O'Brien and Reyna together again in midfield.

Albright..Berhalter...Vanney -- look out

No Dempsey or Davis.

Cunningham is the big surprise.

It is good to see that Quaranta is back.

Jeff Cunningham

Not that he doesn't deserve it . . .

A bit surprised that Dempsey failed to make the list, I think I must be one of the few that agree with Bruce on this decision based on his play for the USMNT.

Sorry to who quoted me... went back, rethought it, decided we would probably play better with 11... I was saying that's how we'll finish

I think Arena knows what he's doing.

It will be interesting to see how this roster will differ from the one called in before the Mexico match on 9/3.

I dont know if convey can hold in a 3 man backline... but I dont think we'll have to be too concerned with giving up a goal.

Who got the red card? ;) I'll say Albright.

Kudos to the Bruce on this one. Twellman and Cunningham both earned this, as did Kevin Hartman. I hate seeing Dempsey left off, but let no one say our coaches aren't serious about finding the best players for next summer. It will be interesting to watch.

The answer is clearly no -- and I am a convey fan.

No Dempsey really strikes me as odd. I thought Davis played well in the Gold Cup so it's weird he isn't here. But Lewis and Reyna are back and I am surprised Beasley is healthy enough. Eddie Johnson still has pain in his toe, so it's a given he isn't here.

What is the injury status on Pablo? Will he be back for the Mexico match?

No Bocanegra? That's the first thing that jumped out at me. I suspect he may be breaking in with a new club and Bruce doesn't want to screw that up. Because as thin as we are in the back, we could damn sure use him.

Wow - I think there are some pretty significant revelations from this:

Wolff, as many of us predicted, didn't impress at the Gold Cup and is left off the roster.
Quaranta is officially on Arena's short list.
Cunningham will be serving up crow pie to all the dickheads who hassled folks around here who said he's earned another chance.
Dempsey has seen Goldman Sachs downgrade him from "hold" to "sell."
Davis didn't do enough to impress.
Conrad is officially on Arena's short list.
Vanney had better thank God he's left-footed. That is the only possible explanation.
Twellman has earned one more chance to impress - he'd better make something of it.
Bocanegra must have something brewing in Enger-land...
