Why why why Why why why Why why why Why why why Why why why????!!

What is so special about this player?

Stats of 04/05 Season:

Games Played 42 Goals Scored 2 Assists 0.

Marney did better in 2 games!

Just to remind some of you how many central midfielders we have at the club:

Edgar Davids
Michael Carrick
Pedro Mendes
Teemu Tainio
Sean Davis
Tom Huddlestone
Michael Brown
Dean Marney

That is 8!!! Why would we want the extremely over-rated Jenas? Are midfielders about to rocket in price on eBay or something?

This isn't Championship Manager. This is real life.

And £12 million????!!!! You what?! THBN can confirm that Levy did actually make a £8.3 million bid yesterday.

Please, please, can someone tell me I am wrong?

Just go to the Newcastle forum. They are laughing their socks off at anyone wanting to pay more than £7 million as they don't even want him.

I am off to the gym. Hopefully the weights on the bench-press bar can crush my chest. I need to get JJ off my mind.

PS. I'm also off to the Anorthosis vs Rangers game. Expect Rangers to lose.

I'm a grupy bastard today

No Regards

He is not a player i would lose sleep if he didn't come here but if he did come here so be it. He might just need a change of scenary, he is a good player.

He's a diamond waiting to be polished. You could pull up similar numbers for Carrick when he was signed, or look at Robinson's record in his last season at Leeds.

It's all about what they can do at Tottenham and what Jol can get out of them. I've seen plenty of players with great pedigrees turn out to be dogzhit or disappointments, while talented but underachieving players have come in and shone.

I won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen, as we're covered. But would be a superb bonus to have in the squad now.

Finally got the strength to put 5 pound plates on each side of the bar? Good on you.

I would love to see Jenas at Tottenham. He is better than a few players, ie Davis and Mendes. I agree he is a diamond in the rough. Good player Tottenham should get him. Get rid of the MF deadwood. we'll be a more streamlined and strengthened squad. But We'd be mad to pay 12mil.

...yeah, each plate weighed 10 kilos, the bar weighs 20 kilos. You do the math.

No crushed chest though.

Good picture, but Jol would also lose all his hair.

Jenas was a quality player when he first joined and under Robson. He then had a little hotel problem splashed (so to speak) all over the papers and although he and the others were subsequently cleared it seemed to weigh on his mind, then the manager got sacked and a tosser was appointed.. he has played less and less effectively, in a stuttering side.

Lampard was the same at West Ham.......... just saying!

A new lease of life might transform him back to the player he was. But not at 12m. No more than 8 i say.

I have read that Levy will not go more than £8 million for him. Hopefully it's true.

I have heard no news on Davis, Brown or any other central midfielders leaving. Has anyone heard anything?

That was Bramble.

Jenas has not been involved in any incidents like this, people keep confusing him with Dyer as well.

Jenas is a quiet and sensible lad, that's why they don't want him up at Newcastle anymore.

Someone in Spurs Community reckons Boro are definitely getting Davis. Don't know how trustworthy that is.

Apparently it's Levy who wants Jenas, Jol's not too keen.
If we get £5m for Brown and Davis we should be looking to buy someone better than Jenas. Noone buys players just to try to make a profit on them in future. If an international-quality player suspected he'd been signed for that reason he's just sit tight and leave on a Bosman!

I think levy's just trying to annoy Arsenal though. He went in for Baptista in order to bump up the price Arsenal would have to pay and he's doing the same thing with JJ SquarePass

Alas it sounds like Davis isn't coming back to the scene, so little has been heard of or from him. To add my pennies worth Jenas is a good player, worth around 6 million - I have a feeling 1 or 2 players would be going if he was coming.

We should buy Owen for that money then loan him out - thats the smart way

I heard some very interesting stats on TalkSport today that shocked me!

Did you know that Owen has never scored more than 20 Premier League goals?

I fell off me chair when I heard that.

btw, Jenas is worth no more than £6 million.

Cheers!

20 is stil a good haul though from one of your strikers...I'm really looking forward to see how Huddlestone develops, there is a lot o buzz about this kid.

We have to finish really high this year, I'd go as afr as saying we should be trying a champions League spot - we played around half the number of games Liverpool played last year and still finished below them in the league (and they had Biscan).

Reuslts and :) calm when we can't play the way we want to - I have my season ticket this year - bring it on!!

Toon Toon, is Jenas worth us making a bid of £8 million for him?
