Hello!
At the moment I’m writing a paper in one of my classes about football in diffrent countries. This might seem a bit strange but I would like to know what peaple in your country eat and drink when you go and watch a footballmatch? By this I mean at the areana, before the match and in the break. I figure that you don’t have to live in the county of the team you are supporting, but hopefully there are someone in here who knows. Hope you can help me out.

To answear my own question, here in Sweden we eat hotdogs and drink bear.

In the States most people also eat hot dogs and drink beer (not bear - thats bjorn in swedish).

Though there are also some classy people (myself included) that find it appropriate to bring a flask (a thin container for liquid that can be slipped in your coat pocket) as a way to consume some tasty heavier type liquor.

The public generally gives a lot of respect to people who drink out of flasks; especially if they wrap their flask in a paper bag or pour the contents it in a coffee mug before its drunk.

I think you mean beer, but hey they breed you swedes tough...

Normal things really. Beer to drink if I'm not driving, and anything from a hotdog with mustard outside the ground to a full blown meal. I actually can't remember ever having eaten hot food inside Highbury though. I guess I must have at some point, but it's not left much of a memory on me.

"drink bear" you are a hearty lot :D, just the bear's blood or put it all in a blender and grind it all up? :D

Outdoor grilled Burger and pints at the SO bar across from Stamford Bridge, at the Bridge English pies (meat gravy wrapped in pastry) or burgers or sausage, and Budweiser the King of Beers, bwhaaaaaa, shame you can't get a decent English beer at the match. After more pints of bitter.

Bought the most unappetizing hotdog at half time last Sunday and just as well coz 2nd half had started when I got back to my seat. Had a BK Whopper and Coke instead while queuing to get into the station on the way home.

When i saw games at the bridge, i would go to this fish and ships place little farther down Fulham Broadway. They would load it all up in a paper cone and give you a little wooden spork. I would go an buy a stella from a store and just sit on the ledges and eat and drink and watch people be merry.
