Also sent out on the mailing list.
I want to get a meeting for supporters of Milwaukee Soccer sometime the week of the 15th of August. While I would prefer Thursday the 19th, I am open to other days (I am not available on Fridays).
Please either reply here or on the mailing list if you would be able to attend the meeting (probably at The Highbury). Also include some topics that you would like to discuss. Thanks.

I'm moving to Madison on the 15th. I'd like to make it, and will if I can.

I could do Tuesday or Wednesday, I think, but Thursday-Sunday, I'll be out of town. If it gets pushed later, I could also go Sunday night, the 21st.

Tuesday or Wednesday would work better for me too...I'm flying out for my sister's wedding early on Friday morning the 19th, and that will probably mean that Thursday night will be spent getting ready for the trip.

For those coming from Milwaukee area, I can drive a couple of people. Send a PM if want a ride, etc.

I think that that would work best for me. And I'm coming from Waukesha, so if anyone in Brookfield, 'Tosa, WA, or Bayview needs a ride, let me know.

I am trying to check with Joe at The Highbury. According to his website, there is something going on on the 16th, but I don't know what time it starts. I figure that we only need an hour to talk. Otherwise we can try to meet up somewhere else.

I also won't be able to make it tonight because I have to work late. But I just moved to Lake Mills, so that should make getting to Milwaukee easier in the future.

Recap of tonight's meeting:
1. We discussed the ticket order forms for the game (the order form is located at http://www.geocities.com/kebzach/milwaukeeorderform.pdf), and we discussed places where the order forms will be spread out around town.
Places that were suggested to distribue the flyers/order forms included:
- The Ethnic Festivals (Irish Fest and Mexican Fiesta)
- On windshields at the Wave United game this Thursday (in order to maximize the attendance of the current fan base)
- Brady Street and Water Street Bars and Restaurants
- "Friendly" coffee shops and restaurants that allow flyers to be posted
- College campuses (UW-M, Marquette, Wisconsin Lutheran, Cardinal Stritch, etc)
- At everyone's places of work
- At the Brookfield indoor soccer complex and at Uihlein Soccer Park (again, making sure that target areas are covered)
- On myspace.com, livejournal.com and craigslist.org public areas
2. We discussed other ways to spread the word about the upcoming Fire vs. Wave United game. These ways included:
- E-mailing and/or calling key media contacts, including Charles Gardner and Christopher Heimerman of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Milwaukee Business Journal personnel, local radio and TV hosts/DJ's.
- Sending letters to the local high school boy's and girl's soccer teams, and to the local college teams, in order to make sure that they were aware of this game. Bob K. will be sending letters to the schools in the Franklin/Greenfield/Hales Corners/Racine/Greendale areas, Ben will hit the Milwaukee city schools, and Zach S. will send letters to the Germantown/Tosa/Brookfield/Pewaukee/Menomonee Falls/Port Washington/Grafton schools.
- Checking with the Wave to see what specific marketing efforts will be undertaken by them, in order to see if our group can help.
3. We discussed ideas with regard to a pep rally at The Highbury (http://www.thehighbury.com) on either Thursday the 8th of September, or Friday the 9th. More details will be made available about this event at a later date.
4. We discussed how it was important that people stayed in contact with their elected officials, while at the same time stressing the point that they were PRO SOCCER.
5. We discussed options as far as in-game activities for the September 10th game, including streamers, drums, horns, and efforts to make sure the entire crowd becomes involved in the game.
If I have missed anything, please feel free to post it here.

One additional item that I forgot...we discussed how we can possibly attract more of the Latino market of Milwaukee to this game, possibly through the use of preparing a similar flyer/ticket offer sheet in Spanish.

I wasn't there last night (thanks for the notes), but had some quick ideas about getting the word out:
- Milwaukee Social Club has a soccer league. May be good to contact them. At the end of their games they pass out drink tickets from the sponser bar, maybe they would handout a game flyer too. LINK (http://www.milwaukeesocialclub.com/)
- Soccer/Sports Equipment Stores in the Suburbs.
- Brewers Games? They may not like this, but if someone stood on the bridge and handed them out, I don't think they'd stop you.
- Send 2 paid tickets to each Alderman.
- Tickets to Mayor Barrett.

Regarding the Brewers, if they may not like, then don't do it. They also have a home game scheduled on September 10. I'm glad you're involved in the architectural dynamic of this thing and not the political, khilani. :)
