View Full Version : Season Predictions

So here we are again after another summer and we're all ready for the new season. How do you think it will go?

Here's my prediction: United of course will win the Premiership with Liverpool a close second, MoscowSW another 7-8 points further back. Arsenal 5th behind Spurs.
United will win because
1) Rio back for a full season
2) Ruud back for a full season
3) Shrek back for a full season
3) Better goalkeeper
4) Keano going out on a big bang
5) Rooney & Ronaldo a year older/stronger/more experienced
6) OGS coming back
7) No Phil Neville :p

I think it would be great to add Owen and put Saha permanently in hospital.

Liverpool will be muched improved with Morientes now there for the full season plus they have made some nice additions.

Chelsea will falter because even though they have Duff, Right-Phillips and Robin, a lot of their other players "outperformed" themselves last year. I really dont think the likes of Terry, Lampard and Gudjohnson are as good as they were able to perform last year. They struck gold and hit a purple patch much like Arsenal did the year before and I really don't believe they will be as good this year.

As for the Arse, losing Paddy Vieira is bad for them. Who is going to replace him? Fabregas? He is only 18 or so and will not be able to stand up to the rigours of playing in the middle of the park week in, week out. Also their defense is very shaky and Campbell is still injured. And who knows how good he will still be when he gets back.

Spurs could sneak in and pip the Arse for 4th place, depending on how well Jol can keep everyone happy. It's not a great sign when one of his strikers scores two goals in a game and then says his preferred striker who wasnt playing would have scored them anyway. Nice encouragement, Marty. But they have made a nice few additions and if they can get Robbie Keane in a good run of form they will do well.

As for the Champions League, well that has turned into a crap-shoot. Who could have predicted the last two winners. I aint going near that one.

So there you have it, post how you think the season will turn out.....

hmm..I don't know about that, Both Chelsea and Arsenal played very well during the community shield, if anything Chelsea will be much hungrier than they were last season and Arsenal knows they have to perform better now that Vieira is gone, but I don't think they'll do that well, This is definitely the year we should surpass them.

We'll win the Prem of course... we'll do well in the CL and we will win the FA Cup over Spurs in the final.

I think Ruud, Rooney and Ronaldo will be too much for the league this year. Giuseppe Rossi will make a name for himself. I can see him getting 10 games or so and being very effective as a sub in a Solskjaer-esque sort of way.

Speaking of the baby faced assasin... Ole's back!!! I don't expect too much in terms of goals, but he'll give us better depth on the right and be a useful sub, not to mention what he can teach to Ronaldo, Rossi and Rooney will be invaluable.

Even the most optimistic, rational Chelsea (oxymoron?) fan doesn't think they will surpass last season. Also, Chelsea will be more focused on the Champions League as a title in that competition is the ultimate achievement. So this season, Chelsea drops back a bit and United moves up pips the title. Arse will still score a ton (except against us) but will be undone at the back. Liverpool will improve enough to finish fourth. (Wild celebrations ensue.)

Ruud will outscore Drogba. Ronaldo will outscore Robben. Unfortunately, Henry will outscore them all.

Fergie will give the team the hair-dryer treatment. Wenger will lose his sight before every controversial tackle by one of his players but will compensate with bionic sight at every contact initited by an opposing player. Jose will lead his team to another Carling Cup and ask that it be re-named the Chosen Cup.

1)Manchester United FC
2)Chelsinski
3)Arsenal
4)Tottenham
5)Liverpool

I think that because we have a somewhat fully fit squad for the start of the Prem season, we will have a better run. Sir Alex knows what we have to do, the team knows what we have to do. It's time to do it. Chelsinski are good, but know nothing about defending a title, they wont know what hit them. Arsenal will find it hard without an influence like Vieira in the center. Tottenham, with their young guns lead by Davids will sneak into 4th place, while Liverpool will continue to be average in the Prem.

looks good except for the Henry part, the pressure of being captain will take it's toll.

Manchester: We are improved and I really don't think our buying is over yet. The front is healthy, the defense is improved with the addition of VDS and the middle will get improved with the impending purchase (wishful thinking, wishful thinking, wishful thinking).

Chelsea: While they have made some changes and added quite a bit to the payroll, I don't envy Jose in trying to keep everyone happy with playing time. There will be some personel issues there and it will cause problems on the pitch.

Arsenal: Looked OK in the shield, however, their midfield is going to be a problem over a full season. Henry is going to find it difficult to run up his normal numbers when they are not always controlling the midfield.

Liverpool: To me they are the wildcard, they do look improved but lack depth and injuries will take their toll over the year. They will be interesting at best.

Agreed

with Liverpool a close second, MoscowSW another 7-8 points further back. Arsenal 5th behind Spurs.

I think Chelsea will win second place. Liverpool will take third, but I say Arsenal will be fourth. If Spurs finished above Arsenal you can say goodbye to half the squad as well as their manager (so here's to Spurs ;) )

I agree although the real test of this team will come when (as they invariably do) a big star becomes injured for a long period of time

I'm not convinced about Liverpool. They did well to win the Champions League but I'm not sure that they can do the same over the whole course of the Premiership campaign.

Chelsea is the real deal and we are going to have to win our games against them in order to win the League. I agree that Lampard and Gudjohnson will not be as good as they were last year, but I think Terry is fantastic and I wish we had him on our team. If he goes injured for a long period at a time they may find themselved be scored on a lot more often.

Arsenal are good but we are only going to see the toll that the loss of Veira is going to take over a long period of time. Without him I think they lose 2-3 games.

Nah, this is Spurs we are talking about! They will finish 5-7 as they always seem to do.

The Champion's League is very hard to predict but I think we can say fairly safely that there will be a Italian team in the last four. I like our chances.

I'm not sure where to start...

Prem: My heart tells me: Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton. My head tells me: Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs. I hope that for the first time in a few seasons we can get off to a flyer in the league and put some pressure on Chelski.

CL: I reckon the time for nobodies to win it is over. I think we can go a step or two further this year, if we get a fair draw (ie. not Milan when they're sh!t hot) then we can make it to the semis, why not?

I also reckon we'll win the FA Cup this season, i just have 'that' feeling.

Most of you here are pretty optimistic, I'd love for ManU to win it this season but I just don't think we can. Chelsea won't be as dominant as last campaign but I think they'll have what it takes plus some luck to bag it again. As for Arsenal, like I said before, we should be able to finish infront of them, now more than ever. And as for CL, I think Bayern is going to take it.

I agree with everyone else, we shall conquer, or at least I hope, I do have good feelings though.

We will win the league Double, and go far in the champions leagues. But knowing our luck, we will draw the champions in the round of 16 again.

We'll fight it out with Chelsea for the Premiership while Arsenal and Liverpool battle it out for third place. A reasonable draw will see us through to the semis in the CL with an evens chance from there on.

Injuries permitting, of course.
