As printed in "The Record" in Portugal. Here it is. I did my best on the translation.

During the pre-season that went on in the U.S. we worked in a fantastic way. In New Jersey, the headquarter was Rutgers University facilities. It’s a “toy” which gymnasium and medical department have cost 10 million dollars. Dozens of great quality fields and where a sport graduates like me his like a king. All my Portuguese friends from college can be envy because it’s a dream.

Information note: Vitor Baptista was a Portuguese player of the 70’s and 80’s that was very eccentric. During a game he lost his gold earring and stop the game and asked everyone to help him to find the earring….hilarious…..

I was a kid, but I remember to laugh a lot because Vitor Baptistas´s “earring accident”. In the US Gudjohnsen that lost one earring (with diamonds) during training. Gudjohnsen already knows me: the training is sacred. So he shut up and waited to the end. He failed to find it. But Nick, a ball catcher that travelled with team, focused on the reward, didn´d give up and had success. Eidur give him a hug and paid him the reward.
I want to see if Nick don´t go on sudden holidays and live him “hanging” because the reward was proportional to the value of the “missing object”.

Lassana Diarra.
A name almost unknown but known to Portuguese players that were in Toulon’s tournament. We were on to him, Gwin Williams, my chief scout had no doubts. Le Havre give diarra permission to a week trial with me and my decision was quick: “Peter Kenyon, I want this boy! When Makelele end his career diarra will be ready to take his place”.
Smart, humble, open to critics and advices, he devours every thing I tell him and watches Makelele with attention. To buy early and to educate – that´s the way I want to chelsea´s future.

Mourinho also talks about that excitement that was for chelsea´s players to meet Eusebio in the end of Benfica´s game. John terry said: “Eusebio, you want my shirt? Why?!?”
“That´s my Terry: humble. That’s why he’s captain. And what a great captain.

Sorry, bout that.... Eusebio had asked John Terry for his shirt after the game, and Terry responded with a sense of shock and modesty. Kinda like saying, "Why would Eusebio want MY shirt". And Jose finished by saying that's why Terry is our leader... his modesty and heart make him a perfect leader!
