"You can be worried if you are a Chelsea supporter." (http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/3869864)

What do you all think about AW's post-game comments? I saw the whole game, watched it TWICE, do you all think his comments are accurate?

As I said in the match thread, I though our overall performance was fairly good. The pitch was bad, I was there and I don't know how it looked on TV, but it was a disgrace. It shouldn't affect our game that much and it is the same for both sides.

As for the long ball tactics, we have a problem with it, Chelsea exploited that. I have no problem with Chelsea doing that, but Wenger needs to come up with a way of counter-acting it, either through a defensive re-alignment or buying a centre-half who can really dominate in the air. The time-wasting was blatant and I don't like it, but that's the way of the modern game.

I agree with some of the comments, but "WE", Arsenal supporters should be worried about 2 things.

1.) We need a striker who can head the ball, strike from out side the box : Basically a chance taker
2.) We need extra experience in the CB, Senderos's positioning was quite bad but I know he'll gain momentum.....

ARSENE WENGER accused killjoy Chelsea of time-wasting tactics to win the Community Shield.

The Arsenal boss was furious when Blues sub Hernan Crespo ran down the clock by taking the ball into the corner five minutes from time.

Wenger said: “I don’t see the point in a charity game to do that. But they did it.”

Mourinho didn't take the criticism well:

There was one time Crespo was killing time by holding the ball in the corner. Wenger's respone: It shows they're scared of Arsenal's play in the open field yada yada yada.

I think most post match comments were made for the benefit of the league match on the horizon.

EXACTLY. At least some Arsenal fans also realise that.

Hey, I have an idea. Why don't you try to raise this issue on every thread in the Arsenal forum?

I love having a mod-Troll with delusions about what is best for our club. Go make a thread in the ManU...I mean Livingston board to discuss your theories instead of trying to threadjack constantly.

I agree on the pitch. It didn't come across very well on most of the tv shots but when they did closeups you could see the pitch coming up in chunks. I know it caused Hleb a problem on a few of his dribbles. Lucky for us that we're back on the smooth Highbury pitch next week.

I think we started dealing better with longball tactics in the latter part of last season. Much of this was down to Senderos and Gilberto plus actually marking men on set pieces. Yesterday, it wasn't a general problem with long ball tactics but rather the fact that Senderos was off his game which lead to the goals. I'm not sure a tactical rethink is necessary other than getting the defenders to provide better cover for eachother when away form the heading contest.

i think it was due to some vital mistakes that some defenders like sendros made and ashley cole. they stopped several chelsea advancements but were not able enough to some of chelseas strikes. the striking force was good but could have taken more chances on shooting. the midfielders did aide both the defence and forwards but sometimes were badly positioned.

I hope that he learns from it and comes back and meets the challenge head on in a couple of weeks time. It's a bit like when we played Sheffield United last season in the FA Cup at Highbury. Akinbyi played hard against him and he didn't seem to be able to cope with it, but he stepped up in subsequent games and played well, even against some difficult physical opponents.

Ahhhh. Yes, I remember that. I was thinking, "What are you doing with the ball?" I thought he was just getting in position to try to cross, but all he did was knock it off a defender and it was supposed to be Chelsea ball, but he gave it up to Arsenal, so you can tell he was only doing it to waste time. I don't know why the hell Crespo did that, here he is FRESH OFF THE BENCH and he is trying to run the clock, what kind of stuff is that? What an idiot.

In which you made it sound as if the lot of us deny any need for an aerial striker or a cb, which have both been commonly pointed out throughout the 4 years I've been here. You make it seem as if the newbie is the only rational Arsenal poster and then you wonder why you get called a troll.

Good luck with the whole moderating thing....

From a neutral perspective the cb position is weak without sol and if gilberto silva gets injured then u are in big trouble. u need a defensive minded midfielder to plug the massive hole left by paddy!!!!!!
