With the Arsenal up next weekend and no sign that either the chairman or the manager gives a flip about this season I am asking the faithful to make their season headline predictions here. Three that I expect to see are:

The Magpies lose another heartbreaker as Lee Clark is pressed into first team service.

Opposition rejoices as court rule’s terms of work-release will allow Lee Bowyer to continue to play.

Craig Bellamy’s last minute scorcher sends Newcastle United into the drop zone.

Shepard Sacks Sorry Souness.( I don't think it would be a wise move at this point, but I expect it to happen.

Toon Announce Fan Striker Promotion Newcastle select one lucky fan per game to line up at striker for the Magpies.

What else explains the ineptitude?

...he should never have been appointed.

You can tell a club are on the verge of a rubbish season when your own fans start threads like this one.

Do you want Anelka?

Like I want the plague. I thought the headline was funny because everyone but Freddie knew the deal was going nowhere three weeks ago. I also thought it was funny that Intermilan wants to get rid of Coco so bad they are willing to pay his wages and to learn of Owen's desire to be a Magpie (provided that he is shunned by Man U and Liverpool).

What do I want? I want management to come back to earth sign a couple of strikers like Boa Morte and Baros, a couple of decent defenders and try to win a place in Europe next season so that we can then attrack bigger stars.
