Just wondering who most of you see getting the bulk of the starts and playing time? Personally I hope it is Mido as he seems to have the brighter future and Kanoute simply hasn't put up the numbers required to be a top-notch striker in the EPL. It shouldn't take pressure from and up-and-comer to get Fredi to produce.

I personally dont mind which one of them start, Mido has been impressive this pre-season so i think he will get to start the season, but it is yet to be seen if him and Defoe can work together, Mido and Keane have only played together once and that was against Lyon and they were superb together.

If someone came in with 6mil for Kanoute I would have to say sell him. However if not we will be in for a season from Kanoute with patches of shite form, and then other moments when he looks like a world beater.

Mido other than today seems to have looked our most improved player, a fitter more determined Mido. On his game he's a very special player. I agree with Jumhed when he said on another thread that we must get him on a perm.

Unless Jol has an immediate plan to replace Kanoute if sold, with a player who can walk into the First team, I say keep him until Jan at least. So to come to an end of a long winded response, I'd go for Mido.

Sorry if this is already assumed, but who will Mido/Kanoute be partnering with? Keane or Dafoe? And why?

Sorry, I'm sure this is a stupid question.

From what i have seen recently, Mido and Keane play well together, as do Defoe and Kanoute. I think it's the combinations that Jol will be looking at more than which player he prefers.

Personally i can't see Jol changing from Mido & Defoe for the start of the season. However, i think he'll always sub at least one of the forwards each game to keep the rotation thing going. Also, as we saw against Porto, we can easily shif to a 4-3-3 formation with Tainio and Davids flanking Carrick. This of course enables 3 of out forwards to play and is a formation i think we'll adopt in a large number of games this season. I'm sure the players have worked hard at understanding why, when and how to change the formation. As it can easily move then to 4-5-1 we'll probably adopt this shape if we're trying to hang on to a lead or a more attacking 4-3-3 when we really need goals.

On current form Kanoute. He has more pace, more variety to his play and works with Defoe better.

We should just do what I do in Winning Eleven. Kanoute and Keane up front, Mido at left mid, and Dafoe at right mid, with Carrick and Davids in the midfield. We are sure to score from the MF then. :)

Per official spurs site, Kanoute played (& scored) for the reserves today in a 4-1 win over Watford's second string. Seems to suggest Mido is likely to be starting on Saturday.

(by the way, I can't remember a more loaded Spurs reserve side. Kanoute and El Ham up top, Lennon, Ziegler, Huddlestone, Davenport, Bunjecevic, Kelly..... wow.... this team is deep... I'm beginning to get very, very excited about the season.)

I believe Mido is the better player, only because he knows how to apply himself.

Kanoute doesn't, hence, Mido imo is a better pro.
