The last friendly of the preseason before the league starts up next weekend.

Davids and Robbo will both be playing at least 45 minutes :D Stalteri will also play at what should be right back if he's splitting time with Kelly.

Bad news is Ledley is injured, hopefully not anything that will keep him out of the Portsmouth game.

Ah well. Who to play with Naybet eh? Dawson or Huddlestone. Decisions decisions. hehe. We actually have quality, if somewhat inexperienced, cover.

I think Naybet should play with Dawson, it will be better if Dawson continually plays and even if it is for one half he will still gain from playing with Naybet.
It would be good for Davids and Carrick to get 45 minutes playing with eachother. I think this game is important for Keane & Defoe because whoever scores i think will get the start against Portsmouth.

I think Postiga (if he plays) will get a good reception, he was a popular player with the supporters, he did try hard in each game he played and he probably came to England to early.

Yeah. He'll never be a top quality striker though. It's a shame as I liked him. One of those players you wished to do well. I never got angry at him just bloody frustrated. Ah well he earns a fat wedge every week, so I won't spill any tears for him. I wish I could. Even if I was at the very tope of my game I wouldn't earn 20 grand a week. sniff. :(

On a tangent, I actually think Huddlestone will learn the most from Davids. imagine Huddlestone playing with the same venom. Roy Keane in his peak would have soiled himself. Correction, being a mad bastard, he would have soiled himself and then thrown it at Huddlestone.

Postiga is now a no. 10 and plays behind the strikers....and doing quite well

I thought Diego was the no.10?

Diego has been injured for awhile and for this time postiga has been given his normal spot and the no. 10 jersey.

still remains to be seen whether postiga or diego will get that postion when the season starts but the coach seems to like postiga in the no. 10 role.

So Diego won't be playing for them then, that's a shame.

I imagine Helder will have a point to prove, he'll get a good reception though I think.

I'd give Postiga a good reception. I remember in the Pool game that he scored in, he had a sigh of relief on his face, but looked like he knew he had to do better.

Plus, he had that goal in the Euros...

If you read the article it implies Dawson is first choice centre-back because he isn't listed as the 'possibles' to replace Ledley. I think it will be Gardner and Dawson but I'd like to see Naybet or Huddlestone there personally.

We're leaving in about an hour for the game because of the new security stuff. Should be a good one.

When King is out I'd like to see Gardner in the team, we need someone with pace back there. I fear Naybet and Dawson will struggle against fast strikers. Besides, Gardner is ok when he have a more vocal partner beside him.

If anyone had to score against England in that game i was pleased it was Postiga who scored it. But i was gutted we lost that game.

70mins: SAVE. Davids onto bouncing ball down left flank, hit spectacular cross-come-shot that had Baia struggling but keeper managed to tip over.

72mins: GOAL. Superb pass over the top from Carrick into Defoe's path, noticed Baia was off his line and hit delicate lob over the keeper and home.
Spurs 1, FC Porto 0

84mins: GOAL. Tainio flicked pass through to Defoe who beat offside trap and lobbed home again from similar range as first goal as Baia advanced.
Spurs 2, FC Porto 0

Full-time: Spurs 2, FC Porto 0

Good result, nice to finish the pre-season unbeaten.
