So we need to tell Owen we'll let him back if he gives Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos a big kick in the shin so they miss the Chile game.

Seriously though, can they not appeal this decision?

Man,this is crap! Its not gonzalez fault chile cant be in the top 70,hes an awesome player and he should be allowed to play in the EPL.surely liverpool will appeal, but i dont see liverpool changing there mind.Chile would have to beat BRAZIL in BRASILIA to have gonzalez in our team, and what are the odds of that?

Could someone please explain the point of these regulations? A guy can't play club football in another country because his national team is not ranked high enough? And the other one about not appearing in 70% of your countries internationals in the past 2 years or something of the sort.. I don't quite see the relevance. Anyone know?

They want people from the country of origin (or EU members for Europe) for the league to get first crack at playing in that league. Just like any other job. If there is a qualified Brit, he gets first crack. However, if a player comes from a really high ranking team, or has a lot of caps, that shows he is not jsut "any" player, and therefore worthy of special exemptions.

the work permint rule is a joke, people dotn even have that much respect for the fifa rankings anyway, it should be something else that has nothing to do with that rubbish ranking

can Liverpool apeal?
Yeah. Portsmouth recently did it with Yakubu, and won. I don't understand what they find in these appeals, the rules seem rather straighforward. Perhaps someone with better knowledge of the situation can answer that.

I just find the title of the thread funny,I mean I have seen many people being declined work permits.
There is one guy i know of in our temple he was denied his permit and all he got to do was watch old movies at home and after prayers he would go out to the kiosk and buy coca cola every day and the irony, he earned the nick name 'THE DON'
