Streaky lad...I remember our arguments about him in the earlier HSV threads I believe when Doll didn't like him much. I dunno about him. Good signing I guess, but who does he replace? Does he replace anyone? Babic? He was good. Kryznowek...no way he's one of the best providers in the BL...Robson Ponte I guess....

Leverkusen have just sold Franca so they would seem to need a third striker.

Mahdavikia is a right winger and Leverkusen already have Freier and Schneider who can play as right wingers. They have also brought back Barnetta -- who was on loan at Hannover -- who can play there.

This would make more sense if Leverkusen is planning to play 3-4-3 or 4-3-3.

Edit: Another point to consider is that Leverkusen already have three non Europeans with Juan, Roque Junior and Athirson. Mahdavikia would be the fourth. With the start of the 2006/07 season a team can only play with three non Europeans.

I think this may just be speculation of some journalists who figure that since Leverkusen have lost an attacking player they will try to buy another one, and since Mahdavikia is known to be out of Doll's plans at Hamburg why not him?
