Even better than ours? ;)

Hey, London is the best city in the world. The only bad thing is that we have to share it with the Yid Army.

Dont you mean most expensive, overcrowded, and with an unreliable transportation system, city in the world?

Just kidding... well sort of. London is an amazing city... only bad thing is that you really need a lot of money to enjoy it.

I won't deny it's expensive, and to be fair most of what I say is tongue in cheek. I have wanted to move abroad for a long time. When we win the Champions League.........

sometimes the bars in more residential areas or in hotels will be more lenient or stay open later...i know one hotel that i was looking at today had a pub that stayed open until 1:30. The reviews said this WAS NOT the norm for most pubs, though.
Some hotel bars will stay open as long as guests are there, so i've been told, the one at my hotel was open til 2-3 every night, i don't remember which but it was late.

Yeah, hotel's get around it by putting the drinks on room tabs for you to pay later on. Most hotel bars will stay open later than the pubs. There are clubs which serve until 4/5ish.

I can only imagine how scary your hotel bill will look when you check out.

I'm not the most informed person in the world, but why arent bars open late in the UK? Is there some sort of law about serving alcohol after a certain time?

Its law that pubs close at 11pm... the government is in the process of relaxing this law, however, which has many people up in arms who feel city centres will be turned into chaos by drunks late at night... others argue that the current culture encourages binge drinking right up until the 11pm time... basically drinking more in less amount of time.

There are different liscences for pubs, bars, and clubs. or maybe its just pubs and clubs, i don't know. I never had any trouble getting drinks over there, but paying the tab was often quite painful.

I have noticed that Brits abroad do seem to get utterly smashed insanely early. When i was in Corfu, i saw lots of Brits passed out cold in the street by 10 pm.

Yeah, it's a bad problem we have here. Loads of idiotic pricks who give us a bad name.

I thought this article was funny.

NCAA Considers Ban on Hostile Animal Mascots
by Scott Ott

(2005-08-06) -- The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) today said it would consider a proposal by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to ban teams from using "hostile" animal mascots during its sports tournaments. The NCAA imposed a similar ban on teams with American Indian names this week.

"Hostile animal mascots reinforce species stereotypes," according to the PETA proposal. "When children see snarling lions, tigers and bears--even if they're just perky men wearing fur suits with gigantic foam heads--it creates prejudice against wild creatures which justifies continued discrimination and oppression. The emotional toll on these sentient beings is devastating."

An NCAA spokesman said the organization will also consider a resolution at its next meeting to eliminate team names and mascots altogether, and to identify each collegiate sports team by a randomly-generated 27-digit number.

It only shows the thread titles, right, not the posts. Is that correct? I'm just trying to see if I have set up mine correctly.

I wasn't saying it was problem, Rick. You just had to watch where you walked or you might end up tripping over someone. ;) :D

That's pretty funny. Unfortunately, I could easily see that happening on both sides after the "Native American" fiasco the NCAA has gotten itself into. Jeb Bush has already commented, and Florida State's hired one of GW's lawyers from 2000 for a pending lawsuit. I'm waiting for them to say that my beloved Miami Hurricanes' nickname evokes images of death and destruction, and is too traumatic for use in athletics.

As for PETA, after some of their other proposals to companies, this wouldn't shock me at all. I swear these guys sit around in a room, munching on carrots, going "So what is the most asinine thing we can think of?"

"We don't want our people associated with College Athletics!"

Well, how about Casinos instead?

"Yeah, that's fine."

Can we close this thread and just start a new one with plenty of nudity frontloaded in the title. Cam dropped the ball naming this one, and the lack of front page nudity has been a ratings disaster. :(
Any suggestions? Jwal? C'mon, your last one was a real gem.
