See though,I dont think Pele ever said anything about Lavolpe's Mexico, just about those particular mexican players. Lavope had nothing to do with those guys, they honed their skills on their club teams. Lavolpes job with the national team is not and should not be to develop players. As the Manager of the national team, his job is only to pick the best players out there, he doesnt "make" anyone.

He is talking about Lavolpe's Mexico..he mentioned the Mexico from the Confederation's Cup....Lavolpe doesn't make the players but he's the one who comes up with the strategies and all the players in the NT are used to his style and doing it well...

I think you misunderstood me. Pele never said he likes Lavolpes tactics. How could anyone like them? They certainly aren't ideal for brazil, as anything they do would be light years better than lavolpes tactics. Pele's only compliment was to mexicos wealth of midfielders at the moment, which is well deserved. These players have been performing well not because they are in lavolpes system, but because they are playing their games. Marquez and Morales, they play the same role on their club teams that the do on the national team. Its not like lavolpe founs some kind of magical tactic to get these results form them.

i think the coach has to do with that doesnt it?...discipline in the field?..or if not then why is there coaches then, they do nothing, the players are good just put 11 in the field and they will know what to do...

It's always the same when someone actually says something that's remotely close to being nice about Lavolpe..but if Hugo was the coach everyone would be like...yeah Hugo's the man, thanx to him we win and even Pele recognizes how Hugo has taken us to the top...etc etc etc...

I want to see mexico play well and win games as much as any other mexican. One thing I want to point out is that once we left the Confederations Cup people were talking about how Mexico can now be recognized as a top team. WHY??? In the CC we only won 2 games, tied 1 and lost 2. Ok, I'll be cool about this, mexico had to play Brazil (world champs) Greece (Euro champs) Argentina and Germany all like in a span of 1 month. That's too much for any team, but they played bad against Greece, played good against Brazil, should have beat Argentina and played a good game against germany. But we lost to argentina and germany, how many times do we hae to outplay germany and continue to lose (remember WC 98). It's a good thing that Mexico plays good agaisnt good teams, but we also need to WIN, we can play really great games but if we continue to lose what's that do??? This happens all the time with mexico, we have a decent copa america and now things will change for mexico, but they don't, we have a good Confederations Cup and now we are a top team, but then we are eliminated in the Gold Cup from a "lesser" team. So when pele says that he admires a few players, that's great, but I'd rather have him admire our whole team.
