The game is only 5 minutes away, i'll be watching on tv and i figured since its the liga-pokal final it deserves its own thread. Here's VfBs somewhat surprising(imo) line-up:
----------------Hildebrand
Zivkovic----Babbel-----Meira------Hinkel
---------------------------------------
----------------Soldo------------------
--------Meissner--------Hitzlsperger----
------------------------------Gronkjaer
-----------Cacau----------------------
-----------------Gomez----------------
Well, Stranzl being left out is a dissapointment in my opinion - and hinkel on the left is an experimet we will see how it works. Gronkjaer makes his competitive debut for us while Gomez starts instead or JDT or Stranzl.

'10 That B@stard Kuranyi! :(
Lincoln wins a battle against Meira and opens up Kuranyi with an amazing backheel and the German forward finishes coolly one on one.
Oh well, we were losing early on against Bayern too.

'20 Kuranyi is given space on a through ball and Hildebrand blocks it well.

'29 Kobiashvilli has a curling shot from the edge or the corner of the box that rattles the crossbar. Beautiful effort. we are really playing like sh!t.

'35 Cacau is tripped while trying to get around Kobiashvilli. The ref decides he dived. Cacau must have done so in a pretty strange way because he is now lying, injured, on the floor. I hope he's ok.

The web reports are sounding dire - a bad performance by the VfB so far - is that what you are seeing?

HT:
Schalke 1(Kuranyi)
VfB Stuttgart 0
We are playing terrible. Schalke are much better and deserve to lead 3 - 0 right now. Hildebrand and Hitzlsperger are the only respectable-playing Stuttgarters on the field.

I just scrolled through the reports again - and not a single mention of a VfB attack, or even much ball possession. Wow :o
As a matter of fact, the only VfB players mentioned are Hildebrand, Cacau once, and Meira for the error that led to the goal.

Tomasson and Magnin are on for the second half for (i assume) Gomez and Zivkovic.

'51 Gronkjaer has a nice powerful shot...but unfortunately from 35 metres meaning Rost had no difficulty. However, it was our first shot of the game so something to be pleased about.

'55 Gronkjaer sends a freekick into the box and Meissner gets his head to it, but not a good enough connection and it goes out.

'60 Tomasson lays up Hitzlsperger for a shot on the edge of the box but Rost catches it well. Wow, we're starting to play FOOTBALL now.

'61 Delpierre makes a wrong movement and seems to have to go off. Whether he goes off or not, Streller is getting ready to come on for someone to improve our attack. Asamoah has replaced Sand who played a solid game tonight.

'64 Streller now comes on for Gronkjaer. Jespers debut for Stuttgart was not particularly impressive, but he was far from being the worst player on the field.

'65 Kuranyi with a terrible kick between the legs on Meissner when the ball wasn't in play. He has been sent off. What a ********!ng d!ckhead, against his own ex-teammate. Don't blame me for my words, see the replay of this action and many will agree he should be suspended for up to 5 games for this.
