I think Austrailia coach Gus thinks his team plays kick and run. Not a very good praise by the Dutch coach is it?

(1) AUSTRALIA is how it's spelt by the rest of the world; and
(2) there was lots of "kick and run" last night (my time) in AUS' 5-0 thumping of Jamica. So much for the FIFA rankings, hey ?

As to the poll:

Can they? - YES
Will they? - I really don't know. It'll all come down to LUCK ON THE 2 DAYS, for either team.

The poll is about 3 plus points on the negative side now, but like you said LUCK will play some part in the outcome of the play-off.

Ecuador and Paraguay joinned Brasil and Argentina yesterday.
At this time I'm not sure who is the S. American candidate to play Australia.

Guus really favours the 3-4-3 formation. I suppose it could very well be effective, just so long as Vidmar and Poppovic are not included in the back three. I like Thwaite - Moore - Neil at the moment, and I am guessing this will be used for the first leg against Uruguay.

I think 2006 will get the best out of Cullina too. If Australia does make the World Cup, I expect a big campaign from him. He will be a key in the qualifiers in November.

I would favour a Kewell - Viduka - Thompson strike foce. Maybe replace Kewell with Aliosi for the first leg as Harry will not be match fit.

I honestly think the Socceroos will advance through on away goals. A 2-1 defeat in Montevideo, but the Socceroos will have a 1-0 victory in Sydney

He hasn't said what his plans are but we have a number of players who are not very fit at the moment (Kewell, Moore, Popovic, Cahill) and I suspect that he will not take these players to Uruguay, hoping to keep them fresh for Sydney. That's assuming that the 1st three I mentioned are fit enough to play at all by then.

Playing vs Uruguay is like playing vs Italy -B squad. Still expect a defensive minded approach by the South American team.

i heard hes gonna leave bresciano, viduka and kewell which surprised me.
expect moore to be fit, and he'll be desperate to play.
i really expect us to go through as we have got the personnel to do it.
new formation has sured us up at the back, but u have to think that we will cop at least one.
im tipping a 1-1 draw in montevideo and a 1-0 victory in sydney with culina scoring in both, kids a star.
we have learnt from last time, and have changed the travel plan around (im not quite sure of the specifics) but it should probably help as well.

What would you do if an Aussie was to come to the Montevideo stadium holding a "U R GAY" flag?

Melbourne Croatia,

why would you want to spit on them. Australian supporters are better than that. We shouldnt be dropping ourselves to their level.

Anyone that spits on somone is friggin dog in my opinion. Any nationality including Australian..
