Its all gone wrong for Uruguay.... Injuries galore suspentions and playing against a very physical Australian Team will test them out...... I could see Australia knocking about 2-3 Goals in the second half at Sydney when Uruguays Travel Jetlag problems kick in!!!! everything is going to way of Australia they seem to do no wrong.
I don't think those "injuries" will be an issue at all. Forlans "injury" isnt as bad as first thought and is expected to play, and both keepers now appear to have shaken off thier injuries ...

A reversal in the poll results.
No 700 48.85%
Yes 733 51.15%
I think this is the first time that the YES is ahead. A good omen for the Socceroos. :)

LOL at the charter flight. Uruguay changes it so Australia cant catch its flight and now they stuff themselves up, while Australia who are sponsored by an airline company, has a charter home.
Looks like FIFA vice presindent (and argentinian) is trying hard to get the game back at 5pm. Australia should not compromise at all!!!

Uruguay coach hit by tactical, logistical woes
Uruguay coach Jorge Fossati faces both tactical and logistical dilemmas ahead of Sunday's (AEDT) World Cup first leg play-off against the Socceroos in Montevideo and the return leg in Sydney on November 16.
Star striker Diego Forlan is almost certain to be sidelined for both legs after picking up a thigh injury while competing for Spanish side Villarreal in the Champions League.
Uruguay has been dealt the added blow of having to push forward the time of their home tie after problems getting a charter flight to travel to Australia for the second leg.
The kick-off had originally been scheduled for 4:00pm Saturday local time, but Uruguayan football chiefs pushed it back to 9:00pm in an attempt to force the Socceroos to miss their flight to Sydney.
The Australians responded by booking a new charter flight, but reports over the weekend revealed that Uruguay's own flight plans had collapsed.
The match's scheduled kick-off time now looks set to be brought forward two hours to 7:00pm local time (8:00am Sunday AEDT).
"It alters all our plans," Fossati said. "I cannot guarantee that our players will arrive in good condition."
To overcome the flight problem, several secondary players will travel to Australia on Wednesday, including the suspended Diego Lugano, Omar Pouso and Gustavo Varela, along with deputy coach Eduardo Del Capellan.
After Saturday's match, a second group of players will travel with Fossati and the rest of the team will follow on Sunday.
Mexico-based players Sebastian Abreu and Martin Liguera will not be called up for the first leg, and will instead travel directly to Australia.
Bad news
Meanwhile, Forlan revealed doctors had given him some bad news.
"I really want to play, but it's a muscular injury and the doctor already told me that if I'm not ready for the first leg I'm even less likely to be ready for the second," Forlan said.
Fossati said he was now considering playing Martin Parodi of Al Ali in the United Arab Emirates instead.
"If Diego doesn't play, I'm also thinking about changing the tactics. Parodi would be his substitute," Fossati said.
Goalkeeper Fabian Carini did not participate in training early this week because of a groin strain, but is expected to be fit for the Socceroos clash, with Miramar Misiones and Sergio Navarro waiting in the wings as first-choice keeper Sebastian Viera is recovering from a broken collarbone.
Despite the problems Inter Milan midfielder Alvaro Recoba is optimistic.
"Our advantage is that we're Uruguay, one of the teams that have won the most World Cups. Uruguay is Uruguay and must qualify," he said.
Uruguay won the first ever World Cup when they hosted the event in 1930 and again in 1950 when they beat hosts Brazil 2-1.
Australia qualified for their one and only World Cup in Germany in 1974 and lost 3-1 on aggregate to Uruguay in the play-off for the 2002 finals.
The players were abused and spat on when they arrived in Montevideo four years ago and this time the squad will delay travelling to Uruguay until the eve of the match at Montevideo's Estadio Centenario and are currently training in Argentina.

The U-r-gayians have to be the biggest and most shifty sooks in world football!
They whinged about the aussies getting to play second.
Then whingeing about no spanish speaking refs for the two games.
Then by trying to disrupt Australia's preparations by moving the game to a later kickoff.
Well the football gods are in Australia's court this time!
I have got friends in customs and they are planning a special surprise for the Urgayians!

We treat every team that travels here with respect. Uruguay clearly doesnt do the same to the teams that travel there so should we treat them with respect when they come here?
I like to think we are above it, but stuff it....give em hell. An eye for an eye in my world.

Im getting confident, Grella and Bresc are right, they are running for cover. I cant believe the stunts they are pulling, and Recoba coming out and saying "We cant lose because we are Uruguay" It sounds to me like he is in self denial, or under a lot of pressure. Meanwhile the Australian camp is just focused at the task ahead and are not wieghing into much debate at all. I have a good feeling about our chances.

Uruguay is a dirty team: Ronaldo
Sportal
Brazilian marksman Ronaldo believes that Australia can expect some dirty tactics from Uruguay when the teams meet in the first leg of their World Cup qualifiers on Sunday morning (AEDT).
According to Ronaldo, Uruguay, along with its South American neighbour Argentina, is one of the 'dirtiest' nations in modern game.
"These two countries are the specialists in provocation," Ronaldo told The Star newspaper.
"When the ball is up the other end of the field, they kick you from behind, they insult your mother, they try to provoke you," he added.
Ronaldo believes that the Uruguayans use provocative tactics to try and unsettle teams having seen them in action first hand when playing South American World Cup qualifiers and the Copa America.
"The South American players, the Argentines and the Uruguayans in particular use more gamesmanship and always try to provoke their opponents into losing their temper and getting a red card," he said.
Australia is anticipating a hostile reception in Montevideo, following the incidents the Socceroos endured when they played in the city in 2001.
But tighter security this time is expected to help the Australians be better prepared for abuse from locals when they arrive.
