Ok, slightly off-topic thread...but never the less France related.

What Frenchy music does everyone (anyone?) listen too?

My personal faves: Serge Gainsbourg, Air, MC Solaar, Daft Punk, Indochine, Les Nubianes, and the singer from Ivy (who is amazingly hot) Dominique Durand.

Not on the list: Johnny Halliday, the kid who sang that dumb dance song "Dur d'etre bebe"

Good choices, maybe you might try - M - (not a personal fave but I think it's quality French pop) ; Le Peuple De l'Herbe also sounds interesting. Alexis HK has good lyrics from what I've heard.

Not on the list: Johnny Halliday,

God bless you.

Jordy, guess what ? He's currently starring in a Real TV program and well, the guy has apparently learnt to shag since..."Dur dur de débander"...Hem...

OK, I repost this, I'll phone them about having a little commission for that.

Well Obispo maybe ... I don't know Calogero that well. Did he do that Zidane song or something ? Florent Pagny and Roch Voisine, don't like them.

Anything by Dutronc is tops also. "Guerre et Pets" classic. even the 60s $hit is good.

Early Renaud is also the shiznit.

GOLD ... La bande a Emile !

2 good songs:
Capitaine Abandonne
http://www.flash80.com/GOLD-Capitaine_abandonne.html
plus pres des etoiles
http://www.flash80.com/GOLD-Plus_pres_des_etoiles.html

those are ogg-vorbis .. so you'll need proper codecs.

the rest, not so good imo

but those 2 are awesome for 80s songs that is.

Nope, it was Obispo who did "Zinedine."

No time now, but will post my French music comments later...

Don't listen to much music, nowadays,
'cept for the classics...I have bunch of
Gainsbourg, Leo Ferre, etc on this computer

And here's an oldie- "hear-candy" because:

_primo, I'm a movie-buff (this is from "Les choses
de la vie", 1970)
_ segundo,when I was a kid, she was still hot ;)

(with Michel Piccoli in this song)

Okay, this has been bugging me for some time. Maybe somebody here can answer this. Who sang the song, back in the 80s (I think), that went "J'aime regarder les filles qui marchent sur la plage"?

Patrick Coutin. Not afraid to say that I like that song.
