what a joke.

Things just got a whole lot worse for El Tel. He's really getting it from the Leeds supporters right now.

I expect that there will be some trouble after the match.

i wonder why there hasn't been a drastic overhaul in the starting lineup, we keep putting out the same bustas that can't score goals. this had to be a huge mental lapse, and with the way the team has been playing, i wouldn't be suprised if they don't bounce back. he needs to start giving some a guys a rest. and give singh and batty a chance. sit viduka and the other central defensive midfielder. i also think barmby needs to go because he provides no offense whatsoever and shuold have scored against everton.

leeds united was not this bad under david o'leary.

I went to the match tonight.

Where were the Leeds fans? they returned over half of their 6.000 ticket allocation. Attendance was 26,663.

Anyway I'm pleased to see that Leeds played their full strength team. I wouldn't want Leeds fans making excuses.

The first half was very poor, neither side had a shot on target, apart from Yates whom scored an unlucky own goal off the inside of the post.

The first half was like a typical local derby, lots of tackling, long balls and little skill from either team.
Leeds were slightly the better side and kept possession slightly better.

The second started much better. Sheffield Utd had obviously come out fired up. Sheffield Utd were much more positive in the second half and put Leeds under alot of pressure.

However Leeds defense seemed quite comfortable.
As the match neared the end (i.e last 10 minutes) Sheff Utd took more risks and pushed more people forward. Leeds naturally tried to hold on and pulled men back.

Although in the last few mintes Leeds had their only 2 good chances, catching the Blades defense wide open on the counter attack.

The equalizer was a 35 yarder in the 2nd minute of injury time. The ball was headed out of the penalty area in a central position. Jagielka ran on to it and blasted it on the half volley. The ball shot into the bottom corner like an exorcet missile.

The ground erupted, 24,000 blades fans were in ectasy.

The was still so much noise/ chanting in the stadium when in the 4 th minute of injury time there was a goal mouth scramble again and it fell to Ndlovu whom scored at easy tap in. As soon as Leeds took the kick off the referee blew for full time.

The scenes of joy were amazing, people invaded the pitch. A few of them (mainly kids) taunted the Leeds fans and a few of them responded by ripping out the odd seat and throwing it on the pitch.
Although I admit that in the 2nd half the Sheff Utd fans tried to fire a flare type firework into the Leeds fans (but missed).

Anyhow the win for Sheff. Utd fans was very sweet.
You pinched Mick Jones, Tony Currie, Alex Sabella and Keith Edwards from us.

What people don't realise is that Sheffield has always been the number football centre in Yorkshire.

Check the record books, up until 1960 Leeds support was poor. I hate to say it, but from 1900 to 1960 Sheff Wed were always a bigger club than Leeds, which is traditionally a rugby town.

Leeds and Sheffield have the same population.
Leeds have had great success since 1970. Sheffield hasn't had much success. However even now if Sheffield had 1 team like Leeds we would average 60.000. I don't think Leeds could ever get such support (unless they won the European Cup or something).

Anyway you never know you might be able to get your revenge in a re match next year.

In what division I don't know.
