Have you ever heard that macho story about Hendrix being a paratrooper in the Army and being discharged after getting hurt during a jump? Pretty good "tough guy" story, eh?

Well, it ain't true.

It turns out that Hendrix' medical records from the military show that he was discharged after Hendrix regularly complained to the Fort Campbell psychiatrist that he was in love with one of his fellow soldiers.

Now, that's friggin' funny.

Well, if it means anything, I'm sure glad the military was so homophobic. Their policy allowed Hendrix to drop out and get back to becoming the greatest rocker to ever strum the steel strings...
