As I've done for the last two years, I will provide weekly results and updates from the BigSoccer.com managerliga. This thread will be utilized for that purpose.
I keep track of three things: (1) Weekly winners; (2) High weekly scores [cumulative top 10]; and (3) Overall leader. If there is anything else you want me to track, let me know, and if it is doable (defined as not too much work for me), we'll include it.
As in the past, the league winner is the person with the most points at the end of the season. The "cup/pokal" winner is the person with the most weekly wins (ties broken by most points in the wins). The top three finishers on points qualify for the "Champions League" and the next two qualify for the "UEFA Cup" (bragging rights only). There is no "relegation."
Last year (2004-05), the Euro qualifers were as follows:
1. Bernd Schulz (1255 points; overall ranking approximately #9000+)
2. OlafGB
3. WindyKid
4. Jeanette Herzog
5. CarstenGB
2004-05 Cup Winner: Syncope (5 wins, including 4 straight at end of season)
2004-05 High Score: Syncope (87 points)
In 2003-04, the Euro qualifiers were as follows:
1. Wolfsburgh (1032 points; overall ranking #4445)
2. CarstenGB
3. MattBro
4. AlexK
5. Meghan Elizabeth
6. Gabrielle Schulz (qualified for UEFA cup b/c Meghan Elizabeth was cup winner and therefore qualified for Europe that way)
2003-04 Cup Winner: Meghan Elizabeth (5 wins)
2003-04 High Score: BriHodge (60 points)
In 2002-03, AlexK was the champion.
As in years past, I will identify players by their user names, if I know them. Players whose user names I know: Wolfsburgh, AlexK, CanuckFan, Syncope, Old Lady Hertha, Daniel HSV, WindyKid, KKOne, OlafGB, and HeyaBVB. If you want me to use your user name instead of your real name, let me know who you are and what your user name is. Thanks.

Sorry; still no results yet from Spieltag 1. I keep on getting error messages when I try to get onto the Kicker game (to many viewers is what it usually says). I suspect I won't get to this until the Germans finally get to bed (hopefully before COB today, EDT). Anyone think they did exceptionally well? I did a rough estimate of my points and it looks like I'm going to be 24 points or thereabout, which is depressingly similar to last year. Big mistake was starting Hashemian (5) over Klimo (3,5 and a goal).

The display was a little wonky. We ranged from top spot 53 pts down to 8 pts, average of 31.8 which puts us in 3817th spot. Wooohooo!!
I don't know many of the Bigsoccer usernames so I won't post the individual scores but Gabrielle Schulz was the big winner today and OlafGB trailed the pack (badly!). Looking forward to next week to redeem myself.

Finally got on, and I beg to differ. It looks like Gabrielle Schulz was not rated (she must have registered too late for Spieltag 1). I think Syncope won. Anyone disagee with that?

4. Adrian Del Borello (43 pts.) (Spieltag 1)
4. Patrick Davey (43 pts.) (Spieltag 1)
6. Jeannette Knoblach (37 pts.) (Spieltag 1)
7. AlexK (36 pts.) (Spieltag 1)

9. KKOne (32 pts.) (Spieltag 1)
10. HeyaBVB (29 pts.) (Spieltag 1)
10. Nicholas Boos (29 pts.) (Spieltag 1)
Should we all just concede the championship to Syncope? Going back to last season, this is Syncope's 5th straight weekly win. It's not surprising to see the very steady CarstenGB finish second on 47 points; Mark Kurzer takes home the bronze this week. As a league, we finished in 3817th place, which is not too good. I'm guessing that there are about 5000 leagues total, so we're in the bottom third (by the way, is there a way of finding out how many leagues there are without scrolling to the end of the results? FYI, there are about 160,000 playing in the interactive game, and about 220,000 in the classic game). As one who dragged the average down, I apologize.

****** third from last....this is horrendous.
Metzelder, Gerber, Babic and my forwards were pretty bad.

Apologies for that. The first name on the list was hers and I assumed the columns were out of synch. Congrats to that Syncope fellow.
If my Brazilians weren't so hot headed I might well be with the leaders.

Actually, I thought I'd done better. My players scored six goals, including the winning goal scored by a defender. Two of my field-players were in negative numbers, totaling -6 points. I'm shocked that the day's winner (105) had double my total points (53). It'll downhill for me from here on--no way I can repeat six goals in a match-day.

3. Adrian Del Borello (43 pts.) (Spieltag 1) WOOOOOOOO!!!!
Frings + Klose + Wicky made this possible

I like the new league ranking they have for the game. Although it's depressing to see how far behind the top 10 we are ;).
