Mourinho takes a shot at Stevie G in today's Times. Apparently Mr. Mourinho is a little upset that Stevie snubbed Chelsea this summer.

“He can say ‘I was European champion at Liverpool’ and I have to say that is correct. But I can say to him in the next ten years we will compare trophies at Chelsea and trophies at Liverpool. And he will lose.”

Chelsea's biggest star speaks (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,27-1716436,00.html)

Mourinho is the most pompous asshat in all of sports. I read quotes from him and can't believe that anybody on earth would say them.

When you see the shenanigans of SAF, Arsene Wenger, and Mourinho, it really makes you glad you support a team and manager that actually has class.

Thought Jose would be a bit smarter than demosntrating to the whole world how p8ssed off he is about missing out on Stevie G.

What Mourhino doesn't realize is that winning the league once with Liverpool would be worth more to Stevie than winning it 10 times with Chelski.

Rafa hit it on the head:

"I like it when Jose talks about us because it means we are doing well.

"He must be worried about us. I think we will do very well this season. Steven Gerrard will win many trophies with us - hopefully starting this season."

The media have to love this big mouthed fool. So must fergie and the Arsne. The media get more silly stories in one week from his gob and it keeps a lot of the tabloid press away from the other two mouthy managers.

Imagine being a supporter of a team that was bought for him (Just try!) and cringing every time he starts to spout off, knowing you're going to take stick from the people you know and work with.

He will need to win the Champions League just about every year for the whole time he is manager and Chelski would have to win the League another sixteen times before they can consider themselves the same class as Liverpool FC

Face it, money is temporary, sugar daddies are sweet, but class is permanent and you don't even rate as highly as the scum for trophies won ...........

Can you count to FIVE Jose?

I don't know if any of the Statesiders watched Chelski play my DCU. Don't want to review the game, but when I returned home from the game to re-watch it on Tivo I got a great laugh. As John Terry was being interviewed after coming out on the touchline, one of the local LFC supporters yelled out "Jose Morinho is a wanker" and it went out live nationwide. The announcers had to say "and he's good manager as well" and "by the way that was not John Terry". :D :D

I find it hard to believe that even old-school Chelsea actually respect him as a person.

Gentlemen, I think old Jose is playing his part as the clown (even though sometimes I wonder whether he gets too sucked in by the role) - it detracts attention from his players and any potential plans he might have - do not take him at face value.

Well they don't come much older than me ;)

I think we find him a bit of a laugh as much as anything. I think he's world-class wind-up merchant like Fergie and Wenger and, let's be honest, they seem to have brought success.

In my experience, (which is substantial), ALL teams that have had success, (and I do mean ALL teams), have had an air of superiority about them or their supporters at one time or another.

Respect him as a person? Dunno really! Never met the guy. However, I doubt he's quite the same person in private that he seems to be in public.

Then again... WHO COULD BE? ;)

The only other thing is.., er, you don't think you might be raising to the bait a bit easily, do yer?

Hang on a minute... WTF's going on here. I've got to agree with RussianScouser TWICE... in one lifetime.

I couldnt care less about Liverpool or Chelski but this is the kind of comment that's just plain ridiculous.

Liverpool winning the CL is more impressive than Chelski winning the Premiership. No ifs, ands or buts.

This was the vaunted "best team money could buy, gonna do the quadruple, etc" and they pretty much underachieved. The Premiership and the dinky old league cup are a joke compared to what this team should have done. To come down on Liverpool after something that nobody ever thought they could do - especially since it was something that many expected Chelski to do - is foolish.

Also, wouldn't he have to pull the quadruple for the next ten years to compare trophies with Liverpool? Or is he just talking of comparing trophies over that small sample of time. If so, that's ridiculous. I can pick a small period of time in the 1990s to give you proof Blackburn is greater than the rest of the Premiership combined, it doesn't make them anything more than a group of thugs.

I wish he'd keep his mouth shut, buy his players, and let everybody else be.
