So apparently Jean-Michel Aulas is dropping hints that both Manure and The Arsenal have joined the chase for Essien.
Being that he's been yanking Chelski's gold chain for over a month now (which has been pure joy to watch) this is probably just more BS to get them to ante up.. but 'interesting' BS nonetheless.

i wudnt be too surprised im convinced wenger has had es eye on the player long before Mr Morinho ever even knew Essien even existed. ive seen us linked with him on numerous occasions over the last 18 months or so.

Yes, indeed he has... but at Arsenal there is this strange thing called a bottom line.
And apologies to Marakana10 who already posted this link in the transfer gossip thread.

LOL ............ not even Chelsea is willing to pay for this guy, do you think Man U or us will? Lyon is taking Chelsea for a ride and chances are they are making stories to make Chelsea go insane. If I were Abramovich I would have asked Lyon to **** off, but I guess he is on the verge of doing that anyway.........

Neither of us will get involved with such a ridiculously inflated transfer value. Lyon don't want to sell him and Chelsea are desperate to sign him. Why bother?

While I would be estatic at getting him, this surely is just a case of trying to get more money from Chelsea. Damn it.

Sir Wenger had an eye on him some time ago well be4 Chelski but thats counts for nothing he is way over our price range and probaly a tad over rated for the huge sum he will go for.
So lets not waste any more time on this non starter please. We probaly go for the lesser known cheese Diarra good propect and better value IMO.

Essien didn't play against Le Mans yesterday due to the ever-present "Stomach troubles"

Although very talented, Essien isnt worth the price tag lyon has set for him. If this wasnt complete and utter BS, I would say this is one of the biggest transfer mistakes we could ever make.

Well Well its only a matter of time before CHELSEA gets Essien and we end up with just Hleb for the window. When Mr. Wenger said that 'thats one of our options' when referring to Viera. I wonder what were the other options?

Tiffany? Really??
Actually, it was originally done by Tommy James & The Shondells. :D
I guess I could have gone a better route and said, "Do you want to know a secret? Ooh wah ooh. Do you promise not to tell?"
